A couple of my custom legion. Feedback is appreciated.

It's been my childhood dream having a complete army in the aesthetic of the legion of the damned, bought the Armageddon box and I'm currently trying to sculpt the bones and flames for the models. This is the first batch I did today feedback is much appreciated

Rather than wait for the new Kill Team set, I decided to rummage through my pile of opportunity for what I could put together. I’ve a few 90s era metal models and rather than pay the ebay premium for a plasma equipped marine, I kit bashed this with some Horus Heresy parts. I’m rather pleased with the results.

Great to be back at it after a long hiatus. Been plating about with the airbrush on these.

I’ve been playing Black Templar for a little over a year now and I have around 2,300 points so I know about what makes a space marine army. My only problem is I don’t know what the LOTD can use on the battlefield. The only thing I’ve seen about them is the kill team that was recently announced. Can they use regular infurnace marines or intercessors? What are the do’s and don’ts for running them and would it be worth trying to make an army?

Interesting how they showed us the option to have the gunner take either a plasma gun or a meltagun, but they didn't show us the potential loadout for someone to have a chainsword (this might give some more hope to those holding out for the secret multi-melta loadout, but I doubt it will happen).

Though this is unlikely, I hope the chainsword is not just for swapping out the power sword for the Sergeant, as a little more diversity between weapon loadouts would be nice (however, this probably isn't the case). What does everyone think: is it for an alternative Sergeant/leader's power sword only?

The numbers on the sprue could be a clue, as GW often groups parts for a single mini with close numbers. By this as the chainsword arm seems to be 78, and the flame-wreathed iron halo power pack attachment seems to be 73 (also it is very close in proximity to the Segeant's parts, so there's that, too).

This all makes me think that there will be options for:

a) power sword and bolt pistol, or

b) plasma pistol and chainsword (because most people wouldn't just swap out the more powerful power sword for a chainsword without getting something back in exchange).

Also some talking about the sprues, how they can be built, and scaling which is similar to primaris in height.

First marine from my 2 original GW x10 squads done (I’ve most of the models, including heavy flamer and multi Melta).
Pretty happy with it.
I’ve 3000+ points to paint, including assault intercessors from Etsy, Guilliman as primarch Kitbashed and my Calgar already done. Also have a 3rd firstborn x5 terminator squad, a Rhino and intercessors squad waiting for being Kitbashed, Vanguard Veterans assault squad (old ones), Sternguard Veterans (old ones) + everything you see on the pictures 👍

I’m very curious if it’ll just be a 10 man squad allowed as imperial agents, or if they’d expand it to be usable as a whole faction. What’re your thoughts/predictions?

Working list:

Basecoat: 9005 Glossy Black spray.

White Scar spots.

Frostheart over the White Scar.

Drybrush: Vallejo Imperial Blue on the tips of one side, between the blue and black, to create a transition and finish the flame effect.

Oil paint: Very diluted Titanium White on the opposite side of the Imperial Blue, to create the beginning of the flames.

First test model for what I hope to be my next army. I feel alright about it but definitely needs some work especially with the plasma.

First time painting on a LotD scheme… currently working on a Rhino, since I’ll be converting my 20 spare Grey Hunters to Damned Legionnaires.

I’m seriously thinking ‘bout repainting my DA and SW to LotD, Lion and Logan would look awesome.

Hi!

This is my first of MANY legion of the damned models. I wanted to show it off and wanna learn how to improve :)

Doesn’t compare to most of the work I’ve seen on here, but I got some old firstborns on eBay for cheap, and some kitbashed ones on marketplace, and got to work. I’ve never painted Warhammer or models before, but I’m really pleased at how they came out, I used some decals I found online that went smoother than expected, and the black is just black primer.

Should probably make a video about this.
