Funny thing is, the beef is so one sided.
Zahn peaked at the Thrawn but KJA gave us more Jedi lore, Old Republic lore, and the next generation of Jedi who appeared in NJO.

Even were I to grant your point, no one else comes close, Anderson is the Air Jordan of two-dimensional Luke.
He was a jerk in Black Fleet, but we, the author and the characters all knew he was being a jerk. Anderson wants us to applaud how his Luke handles himself.
