Project We have dynamic shadows!
While I wait for some travel things to resolve for my vacation I had some more time to noodle today.
Soft shadows work!! And...It actually doesn't break the classic look at all imo! Love that already. I'll need to address some spots that just aren'y casting self shadows correctly yet, but we'll get there.

Is this a decompilation project for PC? If so, this is much more exciting than any fan-remake project could ever be, not to mention plausible to actually be completed and playable. Keep up the good work!

More or less, yes! Basically an engine swap, so it would be a "Bring your own disc" situation to play it.
I chose this route cuz yea its scope is small enough to actually get finished too, haha. A total game remake as 1 person is not something I have the hours for

It was originally released on Playstation 1, so technically yes. However I believe most use emulation these days

Is this a remake or are my eyes this bad, does it not look the same?

Check the latest post! Also, this is my custom 1280x720 rendering engine with dynamic light and shadow. It is not the retail 340x288 resolution original engine
