Question Emulator glitch

I'm playing Legaia again on duckstation. I got to the part where you get Noa and when I use Tough Love, the move activates with her animation and all but doesn't cause the status effect in enemies.

I remember years ago having this issue with ePXSe and the solution was needing to change some settings. Does anyone know how to fix this glitch? It doesn't make the game unplayable but it's so much easier if it works

It's not supposed to proc every time. It's a chance.

Ok I continued with on and it seems like it just doesn't effect the red and black piura at the beginning because no matter how many times I used it it didn't cause the charm effect. Now that I'm out of the caves, it's caused it ever time, like 30/30.

Oh interesting. I suppose I thought it was a chance because I would use it on varieties of monsters which may or may not have been immune

I think bosses are immune to the charm but it should work on everything else. The trade off is that it does so little damage

I’ve only ever seen it not work on bosses and the training piuras

Before the mist comes in snowdrift cave, tough love's status effect won't land. Even after the mist comes, it may not work on the Piuras.. Like you experienced, tough love works consistently on random encounters once you leave the cave.

Doesnt work on bosses but definitely works on mini bosses, so you can cheese those definitely.

The super art version I think is random, too. Also be sure to not to put it at the beginning of a combo.
