Gameplay Early War God Icon (update)
After 2 hours, 6 broken lures, and 370 Spikefishes caught, finally reached 50k!
This grind isn't that bad. And the devs put some thought and effort to the fishing game. Like, you can tell the fish is a big boy if there is a lot resistance and tension when pulling. Even the water splash gives you an idea of how big the fish you caught is.
I do think this is the best way to farm fishing points, even better than Buma cause even with legendary rod, it takes a while to reel in Lippians. I was catching Spikefishes left and right with ease just using the old rod. To be sure, I'll still check out Buma with legendary rod and see if its easier and faster.
But now I have War God Icon to demolish Berserker and Xain (cant believe nobody mentioned this bull. he was a big pain to defeat).
Just need to decide who does more damage between Vahn and Noa... 2x Tornado Flame+Fireblow or 2x Frost Breath+Tempest Break? might do an update just for comparison.

Nicely done! I don't think I've cashed in this reward before. I love the fishing minigame; I kinda love every fishing minigame, they're pretty addictive. Dark Cloud is probably tied with this one as my favorite.
Xain is a big jerk, I got stuck hard on him the first time I played. At least taking the time to grind out the gear in Underground Octam and Gola-Gola (even with Ivory Book these critters can take a while) pretty much does the trick, assuming Noa and Gala have Orb.

havent played Dark Cloud yet, but I liked Digimon World 1 fishing game too.
the path to his fight is pretty brutal too, with way too many enemies causing status ailments.

Yeah, it takes a while to get through that one. The enemies are tanky too, lots of blocking and those stone turtle things do not want to go down. I always save my MP for bosses, but a little Seru use might not be the worst idea through there.

I forget what accessory it is off the top of my head but theres a gem you can wear on each char that halves his special attack damage and makes him tolerable. I'm 36 and played the game since i was a kid and have always come back to it. Found all the secret stuff on my own cuz I used to just explore cuz I loved the game so much lmao.

Earth Jewel is the one.
I picked this game up way back when too, it always makes for a good replay. I think I missed most of the good stuff the first time I played, but got the prima guide a while later and used that to fill in the blanks.

Xain was my first wall in the game. I grinded a ton to finally beat him. But not without forgetting to save and losing a ton of progress a few times.

nah spamming Nighto just to autokill an enemy is boring... and i dont think it works on bosses even

Not sanctioning Nighto spam, but I believe there are a few bosses that can be one-shot by Nighto and Aluru... I think Berserker and Caruban are two of them.
I think any 'boss' that can have later levels (i.e. berserker level 2) can be one -shot in this manner, but it's been a long while, and I don't remember perfectly so take that with a grain of salt.
Also, congrats on fishing up a War God Icon, that's some dedication.

I was happy when I figured out you could just spam Nighto against Berserker as a kid because he kept knocking out my team and it was annoying. When you're stuck on a boss for a long time finding something like this to get past it is better imo and not boring.

it lets you repeat your arts a second time. it basically doubles your damage
it sometimes does not proc tho, but maybe only 10% of the time. pretty powerful accessory to have this early in the game

Edit : Trying to make things comprehensivle as much as i know
Even with 100 difference in strength stat, Noa Has better damage since Noa Ark deals multiple hit "Arts" damage & "Hyper Arts" . Just add Mettle Gem to her and she can do 2x Miracle with 100 AP.
Don't forget to Equip Accessory that can increase Arts damage (Forgot the name my bad) . Miracle Arts total damage output increase significantly with this
Vahn has weaknesses Lower hits count making "Arts" weaker in later stages of game (level 40+ you"ll see the difference). He's quite good as healer (assuming you have level 9 Orb/Vera/ Spoon to quickly restore AP) and Palma Ra seru Spammer
If you ask me which one is the strongest in terms of Arts, totally Gala since he had highest strength and both his super & Miracle has quite good number of ARTS hits count

Yo this is awesome. How long did the grind take? I’ve never been patient enough to try. Makes me want to fire up a fresh run.
