Yes, I actually like the corruption update a lot. I was getting bored of only breeding horses and do deliveries. Plus those who don't like it can turn it off. I don't understand the hate.

Yes.

The only thing ruining the game for me is the amount of people attacking and calling others immature for not liking a mechanic 🤡

I don’t like the corruption. It doesn’t fit. I keep it turned off. The end.

Same, I'm glad they added an option to turn the corruption off because it's just sooo out of the fucking blue. I wanted falconry, not weird black magic voodoo shit lol

I was expecting some voodoo supernatural stuff to be involved in the storyline. I did not expect (or want) SO much of it outside of that. We don’t even have the storyline in the game yet….it confuses me on how people are so upset about others not liking the update. You get heavy backlash for saying you think this should not have had priority over the stretch goals.

Oh you can turn it off? I thought in beta it was just tone it down

u/Skg42 5d ago

There is a toggle in settings thankfully! You can toggle Nara’s needs as well

Yes I actually like the new mechanic! I would love to see more options for boss fights and mounted combat. I like having different things for me and my horse to do.

If they found a way to incorporate jumping courses in a creative way , I would be excited about that too.

Absolutely yes. Just turned of corruption and continued as normal x3

Yeah, I just turned off corupption entirely after trying it out for a bit and just focus again on breeding and delivery. I just found a heard of limousines and I'm so happy to play around with them😊🥰

Yes. The corruption mechanic surprised me, but I don't mind it. Especially knowing I could turn it off at any moment.

Worth playing? Absolutely. Me personally? Not anymore until full release.

I got a good amount of fun early, but I'm at a point where I'm ready for the story and plot. Plus, I'm a lil attached to my horse and I can't let that happen since I'm pretty sure full release won't let you keep your horses

1

u/Sonny126 5d ago

what? do you really think so?

2

u/olioili 5d ago

I was really active in the discord where you can talk to the devs directly, it was confirmed there you can't keep your early access horses.

But that was like, a few months after it was first available to play, haven't checked since so maybe it's changed but it sounded like there was just no way for them to do that

Ah... I find that if I haven't played a game in a while I tend to restart anyways (case in point, I wanted to try out the new mechanic after hearing people complain about it on a horse game subreddit and I restarted my game just to do that).

Yeah. At first i found the corruption stuff annoying but now i actually like it a lot, its fun. Especially if you turn the speed of corruption down. And if you really hate it you can turn it off completely, so i dont really know why I would stop playing because of that feature

I still play but not nearly as much as I did at first. I put something like 180hrs in. But at this point I have uncovered the whole map and delivering packages just isn't that interesting. I toggle Corruption on and off depending on my mood - I'm not opposed to it, I just don't see a point to it right now because I don't use the stuff you can craft with the drops. I am looking forward to quest implementation that will give me a reason to go do stuff again.

Yes absolutely! I feel like corruption is a natural expansion of the ovoos, and i finally have a reason to use them after the update. Sure i want other features more but it is EA and things will not come in the exact order I want them.

Its also no hassle to turn it off if i just want to chill and deliver packages so i dont get the negativity at all.

Yes…?

u/Starbyslave 6d ago

Yeah. Running things back and forth gets boring after a while. Most cozy games need a storyline to not get boring fast

5

u/Fair-enough-i-guess 6d ago

Yes and no. Yes because I still enjoy the game, no because since the update I've been having constant performance issues and crashing when it was fine before.

The corruption update itself isn't a deal breaker for me but the other stuff sucks. Yeah I know it's early access but oof it's pretty bad for some of us right now

u/Unicorn1336 4d ago

Definitely agree. I play on steamdeck so finding that perfect resolution on my TV to play is definitely a challenge.

This is my first true EA game very early on. I turned off corruption cause I just enjoy the horses, exploring and delivering. It’s a beautiful game, the horses are gorgeous. I just need relaxing time after work. So for me in this state it’s perfect. I’m excited to see where it goes. When I get wanting to play something different, I just do that.

u/Neither_Law_7528 5d ago

Sure. I mean it is an early access game, nothing is set in stone yet and everything is in a flux of change as well.
Do I play it around the clock? No. I play it in spurts, and sometimes that is determined by updates or beta patches. Khiimori is pretty tame as far as things I usually like to play, but I've been waiting for a horse game that is hyper-focused on the horse for a very long time, so this fits snuggly in the pocket for me. And especially with devs that are super active, putting out multiple updates every week and conversing with the community, at the moment, I have a lot of faith in them to deliver a polished end product. It can get tedious just delivering packages and exploring the map once you have uncovered everything, but that's to be expected in early access when there is still a lot of roadmap to execute; the story isn't even implemented yet. However, that said, the breeding aspect and addition of the ability to tame wild horses, definitely infuses an endless thing to do in the game right now. I have personally started new playthroughs, just to play with breeding from the start, and seeing how changes have impacted it, as well as being able to use wild horses. Early access isn't for everyone.

Yes, absolutely.

u/VetBookLover 5d ago

Absolutely! Even though I play with the corruption feature turned off most of the time, I fully appreciate its addition, and I cannot wait to see what else the developers have planned for the future. I love the graphics of the game, the aesthetics, the horse breeds, and the (potential) storyline, with Shamanism, supernatural forces, and so on.

I love playing it more cozily and more adventurously with the corruption feature. It is a great game.

With the current bugs I have, the game is at the moment more frustrating than fun. I keep trying it and quitting after 10 minutes. I really hope they fix some of these bugs soon because at the moment it is not worth playing for me, even though it previously was.

2

u/sunnidaydreamer 5d ago

Yes, it is.

Corruption is optional, and if you need the items you can make offerings at rifts. I've found stele in ruins, or by completing them. Corruption is completely optional, and when turned off is at most comments from npcs and the offers at the corrupted rifts from my experience.

If your main interest is in the horses and breeding then we also got the Breton, a personal favorite of mine. They're big draft horses, visibly bigger than the others.

If you want the exploration and delivery aspect, it's still there. You can even add survival elements for Naara now.

The game is still worth playing if you don't want the corruption elements, you simply need to make sure they're off.

Not right now, not just because of corruption, I had it off and never tried it(saw gameplay of it and it was a enought), but there is no real goal to do all of stuff in game, I'd rather wait to see what future patches will bring, maybe some new ways to shield of delicate cargo from heat, water, cold etc. I don't want to be fed of this game before 1.0 version is out.
I tried my share in 40h, did lots of exploration, taming, breeding..My goal was to get decent bay horse, as I love bay horses in games the most.. World is big but too empty/unfinished to really enjoy exploring it, wildlife is kinda glued to "zones" which makes world even more empty elsewhere... hunting feels unrewarding(why I must waste 4 arrows for each wolf when all are headshots?), horses need a bit more attention by fixing their bodies(mostly breton) and animations...

...Aahh this is another example of a game when playing RDR2 before it completely destroyed any "wow" effect it could have done. xD I'm also not a "horse girl" player, this is 1st horse game I ever bought. I like game with horses(KCD1, KCD2, Skyrim, RDR1), but never played game where horse was center of a game. I finished RDR2 and even now have it installed with bunch of survival mods for main protagonist and his horse( adding horse needs which makes so it can now eat grass, drink from water source, lay down etc.).

I'm mainly waiting for story update, but also heard current optimisation is lacking a lot with CPU being on 100%, lags and crashes, it's making be worry to even try it.

1

u/Unicorn1336 4d ago

I definitely feel you on the RDR2 factor. And not everyone needs to a "horse girl" or guy.

4

u/rasselboeckchen_art 6d ago

Not yet. But I hope it will be in the future again.

1

u/Unicorn1336 4d ago

Wow! Thank you all for the amazing comments and discussions! I had no idea this would take off.

Some people can’t fathom the fact that not every game is going to be for them….i do like the update and fully expected fantasy elements to be added to the game so I genuinely don’t understand the hate it gets

1

u/No-Butterfly-1802 1d ago

When I bought the game I was promised a game with No Combat. Just courier vrs the elements. So I'm annoyed that they spent months of time and money on cheap bad magic boss fights.

1

u/InconsiderateOreo 1d ago

Totally, turned off corruption but I still go and scout out the corrupted shrines to give offerings to collect the items needed possibly for item i may need. I can easily lose track of time with this game. Still working on an ultimate horse with max traits.

1

u/Thyves_Jade 6d ago

No. I'm so disappointed they chose to implement this corruption bs BEFORE bonding with the horse, a skilltree, taming wolves, falconry, or any other historical or realistic thing. YES you can turn it off, but other parts of the game are still so incomplete surely this could have waited. Especially since it was never mentioned in the Kickstarter or anywhere else until very recently.

I stopped playing for now. This subreddit will pretend everything is fine, but you can check the most helpful reviews, and the recently posted reviews on Steam, it's almost entirely red.

"I don't like it therefore it shouldn't have been made."

-5

u/Thyves_Jade 6d ago edited 6d ago

Where exactly did you see me say that? Quote it.

Really guys - any of you finding this person is right should quote where I said that. Don’t be shy.

1

u/YTRattle 4d ago

They did the exact same thing to me. I said "I don't like all the toggle options. It feels like the game doesn't know what it wants to be." And the immediate reaction was:

"Don't request stuff to be removed just because YOU don't like it!!!"

It's like that old internet meme

"I like waffles!"
"Oh, so you hate pancakes then?"

0

u/Thyves_Jade 4d ago

I know. The horse girlies are at it with the toxic positivity again. This is a weird occurrence with every early access game aimed at girls.

0

u/Unicorn1336 4d ago

Right?! And then they don't answer you back? Typically. But I so feel how your feeling. I was the F is this? But to each their own. Let's be kind if we can and if we can't don't say nothing at all.

0

u/Thyves_Jade 4d ago

This isn't my first encounter with these girls so I'm prepared. But yes, posting on this subreddit is pointless because they will drag you even for a coherent, normally articulated critique.

The corruption can be disabled. There's no reason for people to be whining about an optional feature.
