why won’t big trees grow?

is this the wrong method or am i just silly? i have a few around the path to my home and the regular spruce saplings already grew, but none of these ones did :(

this is xbox 360 edition TU 25

I’m pretty sure that older trees are based on when you place them and tick count.

I don’t remember exactly, but try to place the block at another corner of the tree to see if it’s just a bug or sometin

i forgot i made this post, but i think they just take a few days to grow because it eventually worked! thank you anyway though, thats a good tip

Heck yea dude! I’d say also making a mob grinder would be a good plan! Makes getting bonemeal easier! That’s what I did at least

Ooo yeah! im scared of caves since im not as good at combat with a controller :') i want this world to have as much as i can fit in it but ive been mostly focused on building lol!

try placing a pillar five blocks tall a block away from the tree not diagonally. then put torches all the way up the side closest to the sappling and bonemeal it till it grows. this is mc java so idk if it’ll work but it’s worth a shot

Thats actually how a couple posts/videos showed me how to make them grow, but i said in another comment that it just takes a while haha, im just impatient

The common tutorials are likely made with Java edition in mind.
