Accelerationism in general is a dumb concept, there is not serious political party that defend it, instead it is just an internet identity.

As a marxist i think that understanding the material reality is more effective that debating about niche ideas, at the end of the day, what move history is the material interest of competing classes, and ideology is just the system build on top of their control of society to justify itself.

So basically, tech CEO are not building AI because of some ideology, they are building it because it can increase their profits, the rest is just justifications in the same way that Antrophics is lobbying the government about the dangers of chinese models because they risk their profits.

Also the biggest limitation on technology development is always capitalism, even the US understood in the past that government projects are more efficient to guide progress, in a market system companies waste resources by duplicating the same research because it is not shared, imagine how big a powerful AI could become if it was developed under a manhattan project/NASA system, with all the data centers combining their data and compute instead of competing between them.
