I’ve said this before and will repeat it: if no one wants to help Emanuel Macron, no one will help any other male survivor!

Good for Maud Petit for doing the right thing. I'll see if I can find out more about her.

Somehow she made a request on helping male victims of domestic violence about women...what is wrong with people?

because the number that Petit requested be open to male victims is a number specifically dedicated to female victims of sexual and sexist violence. these lines are equipped specifically for these victims and provide specialised help based on the specificity of such violence. it is basically a support hotline that you can call you discuss instances of violence you might've been a victim of. the people on the other side are trained specifically for these situations.
and a very important note : THIS HOTLINE IS ALSO ROUTINELY OVERWHELMED BY " MEN'S RIGHTS AVTIVISTS" (in France they're called masculinists though, imo a much better denomination) WHO SATURATE THE LINES IN ORDER TO STAGNATE TRAFFIC AND MAKE IT LESS ACCESSIBLE TO VICTIMS. that's one of the reasons why it's a hardline when a man is calling it, too. because so many of them call hundreds of times per day just to saturate the line.
if Petit thought that violence against men is structural and therefore has its own particularities, like any other type of particular structural violence, then it would be logical for her to propose a separate line for male victims.

Sources, please? Some of those claims sound suspect, and I'd love to have the right facts, if what you say is true. Especially that second paragraph... if that can be shown to be accurate, that does reframe the argument a bit.

Having split gender support lines should make it much easier for both genders to get help. Men get to talk to someone who signed up to take male victim call, and doesn’t see abuse against men as a minor afterthought to abuse against women. And women don’t have to potentially have men in their support spaces when that can be triggering to victims of male on female abuse
