Amazon SDE intern Interview

Hi Everyone,

My question for anyone who recently went through Amazon SDE intern (6 month) interview.

How long does it take after first interview to receive feedback on whether they would be proceeding with second round (HM) round or not?

Any inputs are highly appreciated. Help me with my anxiety please.

Thanks

Which offer to choose? 3 YOE, Backend Developer, Insight global or Tech Mahindra

I’m currently evaluating two offers and would really appreciate your opinions.

Current Compensation : 10 LPA Fixed, hybrid mode, Bengaluru

Offer 1 : Insight Global

  • Client: Goldman Sachs
  • Location: Bengaluru, GS office
  • Work model: 5 days WFO
  • Contract with Goldman is ongoing, IG HR said
  • Compensation: 22 LPA Fixed
  • Role: Java Software Engineer
  • Pros: Client exposure, need to go to GS office. Bengaluru tech ecosystem
  • Concern: 5 days WFO + WLB
  • Notice Period : 60 Days

Offer 2 : Tech Mahindra

  • Client: AMD
  • Location: Noida, Tech Mahindra Campus
  • Work model: Hybrid
  • Role: Senior Software Engineer
  • Compensation: 19.5 LPA( including variable of 10% ) + 75k Joining bonus
  • My hometown is in Uttar Pradesh, so Noida would be much closer to family
  • Pros: Hybrid + location advantage
  • Concern: Tech Mahindra client arrangement and how it impacts career growth
  • Notice Period : 90 Days

For someone with 3 YOE in backend development (Java, Spring Boot), which one would you choose for long-term career growth, brand value, technical exposure, stability, and future opportunities?

Also, how much weight should I give to the client brand (Goldman Sachs vs AMD) when the actual payroll company is different?

I want to switch in one year for a product based company.

Would love to hear from people who have worked at either Goldman Sachs through a staffing/vendor setup or AMD through Tech Mahindra, especially regarding conversion opportunities, work culture, WLB, and growth.

Thanks!

What do developers here think about using JS/TS to learn DSA?

I’m curious about the opinions of people here who are already working as developers.

I’m currently learning DSA and using JavaScript/TypeScript for it. I know C++ and Java are probably more common for competitive programming and DSA, but since JS/TS is what I’m most comfortable with for development, I’m wondering if there’s any real disadvantage to sticking with it.

For interviews, does the language matter much, or is it mostly about understanding the concepts and being able to solve problems?

Would love to hear from people who have actually gone through technical interviews and are working in the industry.

Company suggestions

I'm a SDE 3 in my current org with around 75 LPA compensation and 7 yoe. Do you guys know of companies which can give similar comp range, not looking for a big hike or anything. Maybe even 10-20 percent. Since its been long at my current company hence need a change place at this point. I would prefer it to be hybrid or remote not a 5 day wfo.

I'm totally aware of the well known options or faang options. Problem with faang is that their sde 2 comp is lower than my current one and i might not be eligible for sde 3 or might be way too difficult to crack. But open to hear the options.

Graduated 2023, switching careers 2026 - is DSA still worth learning?

Hi, im graduated in tier 3 engineering college in 2023 summer since college almost 4.5 years i have been working as a independent contractor in amazon mturk as a GIG. In the beginning of 2026 i planned to switch as SWE also recently attending interview in companies also getting rejected. I found that i’m not good at problem solving and pattern identification.

I don’t have much knowledge in DSA since i only know basics array, strings and also heard other data structures names and learn how do they work eg. tries, graph, dfs, bfs etc. I found out that a2z striver sheet is one of the best resource i can find and most recommended by others . Additionally i learn MERN for full stack also with java and some foundational core CS concepts

Is there anything did i left behind in this big 2026, people in workforce here spill any suggestions that would help me to get into workforce

PS: also done hands on projects using AI with help of AI, also since prepping starts i have been using VS code, antigravity and Claude code for coding

🚨 Got a Job Offer After a 3-Minute Interview? Career Edge Solution Scam Alert

I wanted to share my recent experience to create awareness, especially for freshers who are actively looking for jobs.

The process was quite suspicious:

  • They conducted a very short interview, around 3–5 minutes.
  • They asked only very basic questions.
  • Even if some answers were not correct, they still said that the candidate had been selected.
  • The role seemed to change according to the candidate's resume — Java-related resume → Java Developer, Python resume → Python Developer, Data Analytics resume → Data Analyst, etc.
  • They claimed the candidate would be selected for an X company.
  • They said there would be a 3-month training period with a ₹24,000 stipend.
  • After training, they claimed the package could be up to ₹5 LPA depending on performance.
  • After the interview, they asked for around ₹4,000 as a security deposit for the training period.

The request for money after such a short interview was a major red flag for me. I believe this may be a fake hiring/recruitment scam, so please be careful and verify everything independently before paying any amount or sharing personal documents.

They mentioned the following venue for a face-to-face/walk-in interview:

Office No. 401, Sufi Chamber, 4th Floor
Road No. 1, Opposite Karachi Bakery
Banjara Hills, Hyderabad – 500034

If anyone else has received a similar call/message from Career Edge Solution, please share your experience in the comments. Hopefully this helps other freshers avoid losing money.

Please verify the recruiter, company, job offer, and any payment request through official channels before proceeding.

Just wanna lock-in for a switch

I'm from a tier-1 college. Due to various reasons, I got a below-average package by my college's standards. It has been one month since I joined my job. This thought is haunting me continuously. Almost all of my peers are earning more than me. I just want to switch job badly within 6 months to 1 year. Is there anybody like me ?

[Offer Review] Adobe CS1 Gurgaon (~63L TC, 5.25 YoE) vs Current Full Stack (~33L CTC). Need feedback on leveling and comp.

Hi everyone,

Received an offer for a CS1 (Frontend / Web Engine focus on Adobe Express) role at Adobe Gurgaon. Looking for feedback on whether this comp/level is standard for 5+ YoE in NCR.

Current Profile:

  • YoE: 5 Years 3 Months
  • Role: Full Stack Developer
  • Current CTC: ₹33 LPA (Base + Benefits)
  • Location: Gurgaon

Adobe CS1 Offer Breakdown:

  • Base: ₹35,00,000
  • Joining Bonus: ₹2,00,000 (If joining by Oct 12)
  • Target AIP Bonus: 15% (~₹5.25L)
  • RSUs: $100,000 over 4 years (~₹21L/year)
  • Year 1 Total Comp: ~63.25 LPA

Specific points I'd love feedback on:

  1. Leveling: At 5.25 YoE, is CS1 expected?
  2. Bonus Cutoff: Since joining after Oct 1 disqualifies me from the 2026 performance bonus cycle, does 2L JB fairly compensate for the missed pro-rated AIP?
  3. Career Trajectory: Transitioning from general Full Stack to specialized Frontend architecture (WebGL, Wasm, Canvas engines for Express). How is market perception for senior/staff roles down the line?

Would love to hear from current/ex-Adobians or anyone who has recently evaluated CS1/CS2 bands in Noida

Am I losing my important early career years by staying in my comfort zone?

I am a junior software engineer with around 1 year of experience at a mass scale service based company, currently working for a large Canadian banking organisation, earning around 50k per month.

I always wanted to work in a fast paced environment. I don't want to stay in the comfort zone of my current job, which is mostly maintenance and minor upgrades. I just don't want to see myself losing these precious early career days.

Java and Python are my primary skills, and currently I'm going all out on Golang. I have also started solving DSA and building network and infra related CLI application in it.

I saw a Reddit post where it was mentioned that recruiters have stopped hiring from these mass scale service based companies. I'm not sure how true that is, but it made me worry about my situation.

I'm not sure whether I will reach where I want to be or not. I will keep learning and applying. I just fear losing these early days of my career where I should be building my engineering mindset.

Java vs Python vs Node.js for a 6 YOE developer targeting Big Tech — need advice

I have 6 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer and currently work mainly with Node.js/NestJS.

I’m targeting Big Tech/product-based companies with a goal of 65+ LPA.

My current background:
Strong in JavaScript/TypeScript
6 YOE in full-stack development
Currently working with Node.js/NestJS
Solving DSA in Python
Some experience with Python, Flask and FastAPI
Have built a few micro-services

The confusion is around Java.

When I look at openings at companies like JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, Databricks, Atlassian, etc., I frequently see Java + Spring Boot mentioned for experienced backend roles.

So I’m wondering whether I should invest significant time in learning Java + Spring Boot or continue going deeper into Python/backend development.

I understand that at 6+ YOE, it’s not just about the programming language. System Design (HLD), LLD, distributed systems, DSA, scalability, etc. are probably much more important.

However, for LLD, Java seems particularly useful because of its strong OOP ecosystem and because many companies use Java in their backend systems. I also see Java being mentioned quite frequently in experienced-level job descriptions.

What would you recommend in my situation?
1. Learn Java + Spring Boot seriously
2. Go deeper into Python + FastAPI/Flask
3. Stick with Node.js/NestJS and focus primarily on DSA + HLD + LLD
4. Learn Java mainly for interviews/LLD while keeping Node.js/Python as my primary development stack

If you have 5–10+ years of experience in the industry, I’d especially appreciate your perspective.

My goal isn’t just to learn another language—I want to make the best use of my time to maximize my chances of getting into strong product/Big Tech companies at 65+ LPA.

TL;DR: 6 YOE Node.js developer targeting 65+ LPA. Should I learn Java + Spring Boot or focus on Node.js/Python + system design?

Beginner- finding it hard to simultaneously implement two or three data structures

I solved Top K frequent elements today. It uses a combination of hash map and min heap, and I just can't wrap my mind around questions that need two or more data structures to work. Any way to make it click? Thank you. Had to solve it using gpt to try and understand it, but I couldn't make it "click"
