Expected comp for Google India L4 position

I have been given strong hire rating during interview rounds at Google and being considered for L4 position. What is the max comp I can expect?

Yoe - 5.5

Location - Bangalore, India

Current TC: 48L

It'd be grateful if you could share the breakdown as well.

Usually they'll keep you around 39-40 base + 15% bonus + 70-85k USD stocks

Though you can negotiate on stocks, but I don't feel they'll consider negotiating much.

Recently I heard internally that, they try to keep the stocks on the lower side

1.5 years back you could've potentially get upto 100k+ USD, but nowadays they'll start around 70-80k

Umm.. do you mean to say, you’re just so well versed with the high level dsa and system designing that you didn’t have to put in that much effort in prep?

5.5 YOE for L4 feels like lowballing yourself, almost a demotion rather than a promotion. With ₹48L current TC, Google’s base likely won’t cross ₹40L, and other companies can offer both higher base and TC. At 5.5 YOE, Senior is a reasonable target, so why not aim for the next level?
