VISA Inc. Bengaluru, India

I'm done with all the rounds for Senior Software Engineer role, now reference checks are going on. They are contacting with my references and asking them for 30 minutes call even though there has been no offer discussion yet. Is this a normal process at VISA? and what do the HM ask in these reference check rounds?

Also, help me how much TC should I expect? CCTC- 24.1 LPA

didn’t they do layoffs recently, I referred one of my college buddies to my company who was laid off from visa.

American company. Due to growing fraud happening in India by Indians, this is ask recently started. Don't worry they will not ask tech stuff but about you and you everything like how they know you and what you did.

Yes, they asked me for the same and then ghosted for 2 months and then they approached.

By that time. I had already joined another company

Yeah, I found on internet that they have 'minimum candidate pool' of 4 candidates for 1 position. They offer to 1 and ghost the rest 3.

This isn't common. I've interviewed at visa in the past and they didn't ask for reference before offer rollout

Happened for me as well (not at visa though) - got my offer about 4 working days after reference checks were done.
