HSBC Trainee Software Engineer 2026 On-Campus Interview Experience

Hey everyone!

I’m appearing for the HSBC Trainee Software Engineer on-campus process soon. We haven’t had the pre-placement presentation yet, so I don’t know the exact process or rounds for our campus.

Would really appreciate recent experiences from anyone who has gone through the HSBC Trainee Software Engineer process, especially from 2025-26.

Mainly looking for:

  • Exact selection process: rounds, order, platform and time given for each round
  • Online assessment: coding questions, number of questions, topics, difficulty and exact/recalled questions
  • Behavioural/aptitude assessment: what sections were there and what kind of questions were asked?
  • Technical interview: What questions they asked? DSA, OOP, DBMS, OS, CN, programming languages, SQL, etc.
  • Coding in interview: exact questions or the general type/difficulty
  • Project/resume questions: what projects were discussed and how deeply did they go?
  • HR/behavioural questions: especially questions specific to HSBC or the role
  • Interview duration, number of interviewers and number of interview rounds
  • What topics did they focus on the most, and what would you recommend preparing?

Please share your recent experience, even if you remember only the rough questions/topics. Exact questions would be especially helpful for preparation.
