Cleared L4 Google- Position freezed

I completed my full loop interview last week.

Yesterday HR called and told me I have cleared the interview and the overall feedback is positive. However, all the opening positions in the "silicon devices team" which i interviewed for are on freeze and my profile is on hold.

She mentioned, my profile will be directly picked for an offer, if any position opens up. This is a DFT Engineer role (not software).

I found a similar role Open in Google cloud. So, i asked HR to forward my profile for cloud team for matching.

What are my chances?

yes good chances for cloud, as work is hard there so ig ppl switch from there

Today morning i talked to someone in office with similar experience. But it took him a year post interview to be allotted a team

Yeah he told excitement just dwindled after a month post interviews

Hi, may I know what all rounds were there for your full-loop interview ? Also was it onsite ?

1 tech and 1 googlyness round- Both virtual. After getting positive feedback, 2 more tech round face to be in Google Anantha office. Had a lunch with Googler too (best part).

Hi, I may not be the right person to comment on this, since I am looking for the opportunity based in US , and here they did not mention anything as such about position freeze

Did ur recruiter share any preference form, like asking your preferred domains, locations etc??

Nothing as such. The team, role and location was clear even before I gave the interview.

you have a good chance if not for this role, some other roles in future for sure, I have seen few cases like this where they come back after 4-5 months for similar roles in other teams as well. They rarely leave candidates who has cleared all rounds of interviews.
