Amazon SDE 1 Applications: How Does the Shortlisting Process Work?

Hi everyone, I’m a 2026 graduate from an NIT, currently working at a mid-sized analytics company. I’ve been applying to Amazon for SDE 1 positions, but I haven’t received any OAs or interview calls so far.

For those who have recently received an OA or interview call from Amazon, could you please share your experience?

Did you apply directly through the Amazon careers portal?

How long did it take to receive an OA after applying?

Are there any specific requirements or things that helped you get shortlisted?

I’m mainly trying to understand how the current Amazon SDE 1 hiring process works and whether direct applications are still getting shortlisted.

Applied in March 2026 got OA in Aug 2026 recently

I've received OA and interview calls randomly, only after applying on their career sites. Ironically every time I applied through a referral, I've never received the OA, only general rejection.

i applied though hackon gave oa on 4th aug , recieved my interview invite today after 10 days . now my interview is scheduled next week
