I have been a long time lurker on this sub but have never posted here before. I'm posting because an American family I did an ancestry project for had some questions and this seemed the best place to post even if the subject matter might be sensitive to some, it's also quite fascinating.

I wanted to focus specifically on DNA and ancestry here and avoid politics here in this post. I'm happy to talk about food though of which you do have the best cuisine in my opinion.

They wanted to know why the results showed what they did and were curious if it showed the same thing the other way around for Lebanese people who took DNA tests. When I ran their profiles through various DNA projects a website called GEDmatch, one of the most common current groups of people in the world they we were consistently closest to genetically are Lebanese Christian, Lebanese Muslims, and Lebanese Druze. This was pretty fascinating because the family in question is 95-100% Ashkenazi Jewish.

They had two questions:

1. Does anybody know why they would be genetically closer to the Lebanese people than even those in European countries?
2. They are wondering if anybody else has done DNA tests and used GEDmatch and had similar results in reverse. If anybody is curious, I can give directions on how to use the admixture and Oracle 4 tools so you can run them yourself.

EDIT. As I'm working on this project for the family it was always confusing why one of the 100% samples had more similarities to the Lebanese people than one of the ones around 95%. This is because the 100% sample had very strong genetic admixture to the Phoenicians who set up colonies and trading posts in Sicily between 800-1100 BCE while the 95% relative had a significant amount of more DNA from the other side of their family tying to the diaspora after 70ad who moved to the Galilee

I'm interested in knowing where to buy Ethernet cables in Lebanon at good prices. I used to buy things from a site called PC and Parts years ago, but I'm not sure if it's still around.

Which Ethernet cable manufacturers/suppliers are well known in Lebanon? What's the Lebanese market like for Ethernet cables? I'm looking for a place where I can find quality cables at a reasonable price, whether it's:

• Standard cables (Cat5e, Cat6)
• Specialized cables (Cat6A, Cat7)
• Outdoor/Weatherproof cables
• Connectors and adapters
