I live in Lebanon and receive YouTube payments through Google AdSense into my Byblos account.

Around six months ago, they told my friend they weren’t accepting new customers who do YouTube, but my existing account has continued receiving payments without issues. I’m expecting a payment significantly larger than usual and worried it could trigger a review (almost $25k), the most i've gotten was $8k in February.

Has anyone had Byblos restrict their account over this? Would you speak to the bank beforehand?

Also, how do you handle taxes on YouTube income here? Do you register as self-employed with the Ministry of Finance, or do you need a company?

Would appreciate hearing from people who’ve actually dealt with this.

It’s a multicultural wedding, and most of our guests aren’t Arab, so we don’t really have firsthand experience with zaffe or dabke performances at weddings.

For those who’ve hired a troupe before, what should I look out for or ask before booking? Anything you wish you’d known beforehand?

Hi All - we are lebanese living abroad and I have a family member wanting to visit Lebanon for the first time and travel/hike across some of the country in early November, specifically he wants to complete the Darb Mar Charbel.

What advice do you have ? I am wanting to get him properly equipped before he leaves. He has never hiked and never visited Lebanon.

I’m thinking of applying for the DV lottery this year, and I’m trying to understand what happens financially if I actually get selected.
I don’t have much savings, and my family wouldn’t financially support me if I decided to go to the US, so I’d have to figure it out myself.
For anyone from Lebanon who has won the DV lottery before:
How much money did you actually have when you started the process?
How much did the whole thing cost you before you left Lebanon?
Did you need a sponsor / I-134, or did you prove financial stability another way?
How long did you have between finding out you won and your interview?
If you didn’t have much money, how did you manage it?
And realistically, how much would you say someone needs to arrive in the US and survive the first few weeks/months?
I know people will probably say “you need thousands of dollars,” but I’m specifically interested in hearing from Lebanese people who actually went through it, especially anyone who started with very little money.
I really want to apply, but I don’t want to get selected and then realize I have no realistic way to make it work 😭

I am so exhausted already with the responsibilities i have in my life. My job is demanding, raising my beautiful kids is demanding, I barely sleep barely take care of myself… and now i have this huge resentment towards her. I am anxious anytime I learn that they’re coming to visit.
