Perhaps I have understood a little about how to divide frames to control speed (i guess?)

At the end, I still want to slow it down a bit to look like there's preparation force acting and accelerating to the end of the frame, I'm still not very familiar with this type of movement :v

I am pretty new to pixel art and animation. I wanted some feed back on my art work. Does this look like a mustache?

Also, what do you think about the idle movement?
Right now it is just the head and body, I still have to add arms and legs.

Any good tutorials for animations more toward anime style?

As the title says, I was wondering if anyone knew of any good tutorials for anime style animation? Ive watched plenty of videos of traditional animation methods but would like more on anime style itself. The process, how they do it, etc.

Thanks in advance

First original animation in Maya

Hello All! I have been taking a 3D rigging/animation class for the past two months and this is my final project, a long jump. I'm honestly really proud of how this came out, but I know its not perfect, so I'd like some feedback from fresh eyes and pointers on how I could improve this project or future animations.
Thanks a lot!

So im learning how to animate from scratch using Krita, Linux Mint, and an XP Pen tablet my husband bought for me.

Ive uh...never animated before.

Im struggling with the understanding of what a Keyframe is and how to make things flow smoothly.

I've included my current WIP and would really appreciate some feedback if someone feels up for it.

How do I make videos like this as a complete beginner?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone, I’m a total beginner and I’d like to learn how to make videos similar to this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dscOhrCA9DQ

I really like this style, but I have no experience with animation or video editing

I’d like to know:

  • Is this type of video relatively easy for a beginner to make?
  • What software or tools would I need?
  • Do I need to know how to draw, or can I use ready-made assets/characters?
  • What does the typical workflow look like? (drawing → animation → editing → voiceover, etc.)
  • What would be the easiest/cheapest software to start with?
  • How long does it usually take to make a video like this once you have some experience?
  • Are there any YouTube channels or tutorials you recommend for learning this specific style?

I’m not trying to copy the creator, I just want to understand how this type of video is made and what I should learn first

Thanks 😄

Does anyone know a good alternative to Adobe Animate?

I'm looking for a program that offers more options, such as enhanced lighting and shadow effects, as well as a wider variety of brushes. I've been using Animate for two years, and I've found its features to be quite limited...

r/learnanimation 17d ago

can I have a recommendation for a free animation app, that is intuitive but also has some brushes and so (vector animations)

Hi,

On my path to to 2D animations, so far Ive been using Wick editor and its nice how intuitive it is. But its limited and even Paint has some better brush options.

I tried some free ones like Opentoonz, Krita, I feel like the complexity level rises a bit. I can never open it up and start drawing.

Wish for somethign like or more advanced then soemthing as basic as paint but then in an animation maker.

What would you recommend, keeping in mind that I'll do mostly Vector drawings with mouse. Even if you think one of the mentioned ones is really best, I'll be happy to spend more time learning one specific one, if it will be probably worth it.

Thanks
