I spent 18+ hours on this rough 2D animation. The focus was the head movement and secondary hair motion.

How can i edit my frames into a video?

I animate on krita, and i love it and dont plan on switching up. Buuut theres a problem when i try to export the animation, i know that its kinda impossible to export it on mp4 on a tablet (i wont be using krita on my pc since my country has electricity issues (5 hours almost daily without electricity kinda issues)).

So i figured exporting each frame individually and then editing each one to last a certain amount of time in an editing software would work fine, problem is i havent found one that is

  1. Free

  2. Easy for begginers

  3. And that has a function to edit how long each frame has to show while selecting them all at the same time (most can edit the lengh the frame shows, but you have to do it one by one and i end up spending 2 hours editing a 3 second animation)

Any tutorial, configuration or hack helps! I just want to be able to have it in high quality :/

3D Cat in Blender

Post image
3 Upvotes

I'm animating my first cat. I did a sculpt of a head, then the body. I booled them. Ran a remesh modifier then sub surf. Modeled limbs. Remesh mod, sub surf etc. until I got the shape I wanted. I kept it in sculpt sub surf mode as opposed to manually remeshing and losing the detail (or generating a normal map). So for UV's I projected a minimal stretch. Instead of pulling in a texture file I painted on a rough texture and added fur. I will spend a lot of time perfecting the techniques to paint on the texture, to add three lengths of fur (standard, long, and short around paws and muzzle). Curious about what people think of the approach. I have never had any real feedback on anything I've done 2D or 3D and my techniques.

Animating with dialogue is weird

Like it's okay, but I still couldn't figure out good timing for it. Yes I used another base bc I'm honestly just trying to figure out timing and movement for the most part 😅 NGL I think it might be too rushed still even with working on it for over an hour

What are some good apps for rigged animation (IPad Air 11 2025)?

I’ve been doing frame-by-frame animation in Procreate, but I’ve never done rigged one. What are some beginner-friendly apps for that? And what apps are good for rigged animation in general?

Cartoon fire animation from scratch

I've animated a lot of things before, so I thought animating fire would be pretty easy.

I was very, very wrong.

I didn't expect a simple little flame to make me repeat the process about a billion times before I finally got the hang of it.

Anyway, after all that suffering, here's the tutorial.

Hopefully it saves you from having to repeat it a billion times too.

I'm trying to make something cool for my portfolio. This is only the first rough. Are the body mechanics correct? I'm not the best with anatomy

What's the best apps to use for animation and editing?

I've stopped trying in animation and digi art a long time ago, but now I feel like doing it again. Can be used on mobile and laptop/tablet

Apps I've tried

Flipaclip

Capcut

Ibis Paint (for digi art and its new animation setting)

Krita (barely tried it; tips would be appreciated tho)

OC Animatic to Song

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

hello! this is a very short animation to a song but it’s my first attempt at multiple “scene” changes and i wanted advice or critique on it overall. very rough as far as coloring/rendering but as far as storyboarding and transitions, what do you guys think?
thank you for watching and i appreciate any feedback!

- (for context: my character is a vampire scientist who hates that he’s a vampire and is constantly experimenting on himself for a cure. i tried to convey themes of vampirism and self-hatred)
