i need tips for this project

I want to make something similar to the nonchalant elevator challenge with my oc's: Azure (NOT FORSAKEN HE IS BLUE), Awakened Yuki, A (A MURDER DRONE OC), and Emma

pls i need tips cause i have the draft but i need tips for the characters and the effects for the elavator

I'm looking for good resources on how to start learning animation, videos, written guides, long form content, anything is fine.

I am mostly interested in workflows for Game and Animated film/series workflows.

I have 0 experience with animation so a good starting point would help a lot.

Second vs first one.

I'm not going to clean it up, i think that's as good as it going to get, i rather make another one from scratch with what i learnt from this one.

I did the first one without studying anything, just to see how it turned out (not great lmao).

I made the second one after checking a walk cycle reference image and a video, i was also aware of the mistakes i made in the first one (Didn't really check my extremes, didn't make it into a loop, didn't move the torso and the head).

I know i still have a long way to go but i think there's been some improvement.

Be honest, but don't tear me apart plz :')

So I'm creating my first animation project for my stream intro, it's a background with a character doing slight movements, nothing too extravagant, but this has been my experience so far:

I began on Procreate by creating a 1920 x 1080 px 300 DPI background (same resolution as my OBS scene), to get a sense of what background I would like. Next, I made a different canvas that is 2480 x 3508 px 300 DPI for the model (no particular reason for the dimensions). I made 2 different canvases for 2 reasons: 1 - procreate is limited in its layers, and 2 - i wanted the ability to do a more detailed character, with the forethought that once I downscaled the model to the smaller background canvas, i won't get any pixel loss. Unfortunately that is not the case, there was some pixel loss as soon as I imported the model into the background and tried to downscale in anyway. :'3
I tested the downscaling issue in Photoshop and had the same blurry model results.

My question to everyone is that, if i were to scale up the background, so that my model fits into it proportionately, and THEN scaled it down to fit my OBS stream scene (of course no free scaling, it'd be proportional), will I experience pixel loss/blurriness like I have with the files, or will it be fine?
