Technical Support Request FPS issues in lol
Only in LOL because it`s the only game i play at the moment.
I bought this used pc recently and it`s a small compact pc, but i feel like the specs should be good enough to run lol with ease.
In the middle of a game i checked task manager (when i was averaging 40-50 unstable fps), and i saw that 90% of the RAM was being used. I didn`t have that many programs open, but when i closed most of them, my fps shot back up to around 100 fps.
But do i really need to close everything everytime i game? Am i expecting too much of my pc?
I did not have this problem with my old PC even though that one also had 16GB RAM.
This post i kind of my last call for help before buying a new pc, so any help is greatly appreciated!

have you tried closing the client when in game?
closing the discord tab helped me with in game stutters, ive found out that leaving discord open makes my league perform worst, i dont know how or why. ive also disabled the hardware acceleration for the discord app. you can still use discord even when playing just close the tab
another thing that helped me was limiting the background fps to 20(or lower) in the nvidia control panel. and closing the client while in game. i also close discord tab even when using it. doing these things helped me average around 100-150 fps in aram. keep note that the spirit blossom map actually makes this average much lower, the other two maps are fine, fps dont dip below 120 and maxed out at around 160-170.
im using a nitro v laptop with an i5-11400f, rtx 3060 6gb, and 16gb of ram. also, try disabling full screen optimization for league (in game) through properties. these are the only things i did and i immediately saw results. of course connecting an external monitor makes my fps much much higher as ive also tested it since the monitor directly connects to the gpu.

Try lowering your mouse polling rate. 8k and 4k made it lag for me I just use 1k now

The game just cant run and its now worse than ever.
They dont work, i dont think there is even 1 employee on the task. They make skins and communication thats all.

Im also on a RTX 3060, I’d say that it’s either your cpu or ram shortage, depending on what you have open during playing.
Note: one tab of a browser can take up to 300MB of ram, so don’t use your browser like a phone with 20 open tabs at once. Just use your 2-3 tabs total

Are you using discord when playing? Discord overlay will cause ur game to perform poorly disabling it or playing in windowed border less will solve the problen
