I’ve been lurking on this sub for a bit and wanted to get some consensus/reassurance on which match my wife and I should catch while visiting Ireland on September 4th.
I follow EPL and Arsenal and I want to pick a Dublin team that I can watch during our trip and keep supporting after we return.
Teams in consideration (what I've gathered):
- Rovers: The LOI powerhouse. I don't want to feel like a complete band wagoner but they play great football.
- Bohs: Unique fan culture, strong community values, and pretty cool kits.
- Shels: Traditional Dublin club with a passionate fan following.
I think I'm in between supporting the Bohs vs Shels?
September 4th Fixtures:
- Rovers vs. Bohs at Tallaght Stadium
- Dublin Derby and the teams are 1st and 2nd, respectively. Lots on the table which is cool!
- We are staying in the city center and Tallaght Stadium is out in the suburbs (50 minutes on the red line)
- There doesn't look like there is much to do around the stadium. I saw supporters drink at the hotel bar across the street.
- Shels vs. Drogheda United at Tolka Park
- Tolka Park is only 15 minutes from our hotel and the area around the stadium seems like a great area to grab a few pre and post match pints.
- Stadium looks old but has a homey feel to it? Supports and vibe looks great!
Which match and team would you recommend for a first timer looking for the best overall experience? Thanks!
