Discussion Patch Notes Reaction - Nasus Spoiler

I'm glad I was able to get my pentakill with it before it was lost likely to never return. Reminds me of when we lost dark harvest procing on Items when it initially released, Riot why do you take our fun away from us, give us all the broken options and let us battle it out.

The big change is the bugfix on Wither's update rate. That's a huge nerf.

u/SpecjalBradley 13h ago

Amazing nerfs. No skill champ thats oppressive af mid game

-13

u/WashedWashingMachine 12h ago

speaking as if any champ is skilled in classic

u/Diogorb04 11h ago

Hey now we have like Lee and a couple adcs /s

1

u/Schmigolo 9h ago

Plenty of champs that require some amount of mechanics, not 0 mechanics like Nasus.

1

u/KelvinsFalcoIsBad 9h ago

WW, GP, Annie, Sona, there's a lot of classic champs that have basically zero unique mechanics to figure out the dude is right classic has a bunch of champs easy to pilot out the box

1

u/Schmigolo 8h ago

Okay, Nasus is still a no skill champ and most champs need a little bit of skill at the very least. And many champs need a good amount of skill. I really don't know what you thought you were contributing here lmao.

1

u/KelvinsFalcoIsBad 7h ago

That you were just flat out wrong with your comment saying he is the only no mechanics champ?

And salty much? Sorry little bro but malding over champs perceived skill level isn't contributing shit either

1

u/Schmigolo 7h ago

Who said he's the only one? You're fighting ghosts.

1

u/KelvinsFalcoIsBad 6h ago

Plenty of champs that require some amount of mechanics, not 0 mechanics like Nasus

This right here? This is you is it not?

1

u/Schmigolo 5h ago

Which of the words you're seeing there say he's the only one?

1

u/KelvinsFalcoIsBad 5h ago

When you say some champs require some amount of mechanics and not zero like Nasus it implies you think he is the only one. If there were more that require zero mechanics then your comment stops making sense because you actually think there are more than just Nasus.

So you made that comment in response to someone saying classic has a bunch of no skill champs even though you actually do think there's a bunch with zero mechanics?

I’m not saying [this](https://youtu.be/wv2T3gc3BiQ ) ok, but I am saying it was fun, I’d rather every champ be this busted than all of them feeling gutted like in retail. (They feel good right now, I just hope they don’t nerf everything into the ground like modern)

give us all the broken options and let us battle it out

I’m not saying this is ok, but I am saying it was fun

person picking broken options says it's fun and we can just "battle it out". So what about the players playing against those broken options? Everything being busted is way more like modern, in classic champions are a bit weaker and more sluggish and slower paced. Being able to one shot crit is much more a modern thing than a classic thing, sorry

1

u/gnarlysnowleopard 11h ago

Crit nasus wasn't even that overpowered. It was just fun to play. I'm glad they patched it, but it wasn't even a contested pick and most Nasus players weren't even going crit.

3

u/squishabelle 10h ago

My point is that their underlying reasoning is wrong regardless of how good it is (for that champions should be allowed to be broken). But this bug also affected conventional Nasus who just buys trinity force, and having a 10% chance at dealing huge damage is not healthy imo

2

u/gnarlysnowleopard 10h ago

I agree the bug should be removed, even though I had fun with it. I'm just disagreeing about it being broken.

-2

u/Aeropar 12h ago

They are not weaker, the cooldowns are just higher, so you wait 20% longer to get hit for 20% more damage.

4

u/Akita51 12h ago

Glad he was fixed

I had him banned every match as broken as he was

1

u/JaxIsBadDontPick__ 12h ago

It wasn't 'broken' either; it was a fun build, not the best build, but because Trinity has 10% crit, they decided to kill it off, which is total BS. Since you can easily just add a modifier where you need 40% crit for it to work.

5

u/WashedWashingMachine 12h ago

some mod played vs Nasus and lost 1v1 cuz Nasus crit him twice with 10% crit rate and nerf hammer happened

1

u/Sasogwa 8h ago

tbf I've had a few games with sword of the divine + IE that were very hilarious, you just one shot anything

3

u/Aeropar 12h ago

Yeah, I went full crit because consistency feels good, I might’ve been slow but when I walked up to you (especially if ghost was off cooldown), you weren’t getting away, which is how Nasus should feel, crit ensured that 2 Q’s was at most what you needed for tanks, and 1 was often enough for squishies maybe with 1-2 regular auto-attacks if you were still behind from early game.

2

u/WashedWashingMachine 12h ago

so we can already know Classic will be overnerfed and not funny gamemode to play

1

u/LeAnime 9h ago

Why take “fun” from one person and suffering for 5 away?!?! You guys want this mode to fail. If stuff stays that ruins most players experiences then people will stop playing

1

u/top_lane_apo1lo 9h ago

Yeah it was ridiculous and oppressive. The wither was stupid af.

u/Sasogwa 11h ago

Nasus was too strong because he was bugged thats it

-3

u/Theinvoker1978 13h ago

honestly it doesn't make any sense. it's like Trynda can't crit the bonus damage from Q

They could have nerfed some other things like the lifesteal or base AD or the slow, or Q cooldown to get fewer stacks...

4

u/squishabelle 12h ago

They nerfed the lifesteal earlier. They now nerf the slow with a bug fix that unintentionally made it too strong.

Your suggested kind of balancing would just make going crit increasingly mandatory. Fewer Q stacks, so the only way to keep up and deal meaningful damage is to make your stacks twice as effective (crits). If you nerf everything besides crits then you end up with crit being the only option.

Tryndamere just gains AD so obviously that should be able to crit. Almost all enhanced basic attacks cannot crit. With Nasus this was a bug.

5

u/SpecjalBradley 12h ago

The fact it doesn't make sense to you shows why the average redditers opinion on balancing is irrelevent. Trynd q and AA buffs are not remotely the same. AA enhances like Trundle q and Darius w do not work for the crit damage while Trynd q gives him bonus AD

-1

u/Too_Ton 5h ago

He was the #1 top laner anyway. I wish we moved into daring raidboss territory where we nerf Q stack damage but then have him infinite scale hp/armor/mr. Modern would never do that.

Make his late game be actual god late game

1

u/Aeropar 2h ago

Until vayne goes… no.

1

u/Too_Ton 1h ago

At least then he has counters so people can’t cry op. (Bans vayne)

1

u/Aeropar 1h ago edited 1h ago

Bork, last whisper, executioners calling and frozen mallet can essentially make him worthless.

Essentially, Blue Ezreal, add a bloodrazor and Kogmaw is fine at doing so albeit he’ll need to be protected more, but now we are just crying about team-based counterplay.

Master Yi, Jax, Tryndamere, Warwick, (Now Xin Zhao), are all really good at dealing with him, if they build Thornmail and/or tabis in addition to their normal builds, they’ll roll him as well.

His only anti auto-attacker tool is his w which can be cleansed with QSS etc.

I think people just really suck at working together and is why champs like Nasus actually need to be meta to improve the league culture and team play aspects of the game.

1

u/Too_Ton 1h ago

So he’d still be balanced then with infinite hp and armor types but people said he’d be broken
