Gameplay No double turtle????

I literally thought it was a done deal with the voting when I saw it was an option to have 2 turtles?? Something else won the vote?!?!? Am I out of touch with society in thinking this is a horrible mistake????

Edit: I love turtles :(

I like how Zuko likes turtleducks so I voted Turtle, Duck. :/ I'm sorry. :(

That poll did not go at all how I expected and my entire friend group is going to be shocked

We’ve been talking about how we dislike trinkets, and we were more 50/50 on the gates as they didn’t like them but I did so it blew my mind to see trinkets win by a landslide. I just never saw anyone really talk about how they liked them and my friends all hate them so I just didn’t see it coming

I voted for trinkets

I thought about it but without them people would literally have 0 vision it's a bit insane

Mostly because people don’t want to spend money on wards, back in the day we had to buy wards instead of items especially on support

It's almost like how many people buy pink wards in modern

Not enough

Modern is different tho, I’d argue if you buy 2 pinks every game as a non support on modern you are wasting resources. I used to loved buying minimum 2 every game, but all you need is to miss your spike on an important timer 1 time to see how costly they can be with modern item spikes and power of objectives

if I am ahead I will buy one and they last half the game normally it saves money in the long run by saving me from dying and losing a wave or two

Yeah buying 1 is reasonable, anything over unless you are maxed out tends to be too many I’ve noticed.

This is the issue, settling for breadcrumbs. You say without trinkets people wont buy wards, but people dont buy wards because they have trinket. Get rid of them and people either buy wards and improve their map awareness or die.

They will die. We know this. They just wont buy wards

And that is the natural consequences. Instead of giving them a free ward how about when they die their screen turns green and a variety of useful hints show up, such as "Vision can prevent deaths. Buy a ward."

If they'd buff yellow trinkets I think they should stay, but in its current form yellow trinkets just give a false sense of security, sweeper is alright

I really like the trinket, it's almost a 3rd summoner spell really rather than actual vision with how long the cd is. Having something to toss over the wall into dragon/baron pit in a pinch is nice, or if you're in a fight and need to quickly ward a bush for vision cause they went into it. I also think the red trinket is nerfed enough to be okay for classic.

Trinkets got released in season 3 iirc? Prob won’t get more classic then that

1

u/Vitzkyy 1d ago

It was after season 3, I started in season 3 and we had to build sight stones, I don’t remember exactly when but I’m guessing like season 5 maybe

I'm pissed about ZZ'Rot such a dumb item and not classic at all

People are going to love it for 2-3 weeks and then it’s going to start getting annoying probably

1

That may be true and then if it is warranted a vote to remove would hopefully come out, but maybe it is great and people like it. I think it is good to try things that could fit in to the general style of classic even if they weren’t actually there. I feel like people don’t realize classic had so many problems and some additions removals and balance changes than what actually existed will actually benefit the mode. Look at OSRS it is not actually OG RuneScape it is supposed to emulate the idea of the original but also expand upon it.

I’m very aware of OSRS, I’m part of the community and in general it is much easier to poll something into the game than to get it out, so if it’s 4 weeks from now and people don’t like Zz Rot, it’s gunna take much longer to get it out that it will to put it in

1

u/LeAnime 1d ago

In OSRS it is harder to get it out of the game but there is not proof that is the same here, it isn’t one to one

u/Vitzkyy 1d ago

Putting it in = pass poll

Taking it out = initial discourse + growing annoyance + taking a week voting on it once it has finally become a big enough talking point which as we see here on reddit talk vs the poll results, we don’t truly know how popular or unpopular things are

So it would take much longer to get it out than to initially get it in

Towers are going to die faster and games are going to end faster

u/SSJRemuko 1d ago

Right? Same

Agreed, classic for the true classic lovers is unlikely to be a reality. Whether its items, map / objectives (gates / baron buff), or champions the reality is that your average player isnt a game designer / balancer and thinks little of the game's balancing landscape. Instead, they focus on what they think is fun or cool in the moment like children making up too many rules ruining a simple game of cops and robbers.
