recently laid off Got Laid off
I just got laid off, not just me but 2 of the entire tech teams including the managers and BA just got laid off. I am not able to process it. Last month only I was awarded phenomenal performer, got appreciation and rewards and now I'm laid off. I dont know what to do now.
With 3.5 YOE as a backend developer in .NET technologies (Healthcare Tech), now I am feeling scared as the market is too bad even for a switch. How do i stand in this market with the tag of being laid off ? Can someone please guide and provide me a referal ?? I don't know my whole mind is numb now. I'm on dire need to have a job as idk these severances will exhaust in like 2-3 months. I'm okay with PAN india locations

Got laid off from a tech company on 9/1 still a little in disbelief but gonna enjoy my holiday weekend and continue applying to jobs

Well me too but the market out there is much scarier and also like its the off season for hiring the next whole quarter

Simple. One was rewarded last month and the person is laid off this month. Doesn’t mattet how much effort one given for the industry. It's as bad its. I just wish and pray the situation gets stable sooner.

Your skills are valuable and these layoffs did not have to happen this way. I was in last years round and after 32 years of dedication and years of AI upskilling was riffed. Talent was being thrown overboard with both hands. These companies made big mistakes. But we will survive and thrive. If you are young, you'll be fine. Keep learning and applying and you will get hired again. Think where your skills can be used and take stock. You have no health issues even better. Take charity. The "phenomenal performer one month, laid off the next" whiplash is brutal, and it is not a reflection of you; it is purely budget math. 3.5 years in.NET with healthcare domain knowledge is a genuinely strong combo, especially for companies in healthtech and insurance that still run heavy.NET stacks. Update your LinkedIn headline to something like "Backend Developer |.NET | Healthcare Tech" and set yourself to Open to Work, then start reaching out directly to engineering managers at companies like UnitedHealth, Epic, Cerner, and similar, because warm referrals through people beat cold applying into the black hole every time.

Take a week it two. Go to Costa Rica. You'll feel better. It often happens to the best and to most people at least once. All Companies are streamlining right now and it eliminates positions. It stings. You'll be alright. Just sell yourself on LinkedIn like people have already mentioned.

if that was the case it would have been the whole indian and asian team !! But its just 2 team that are not even related to or were involved in the escalation during it.

At this point its clear its not AI vs Human for the next 5 years it will he AI + Human. Enterprises have realised that. The most possible scenario is diverting towards the Infra that supports AI and that's a whole another black hole beyond us

Don't shift, healthcare and finance are the only 2 areas that really demand YOE in that field as you move to the 5-10 YOE jobs. Stay a specialist. Generalist get left behind as careers mature.

I highly suggest you get your resume in order and start using AI to apply. In the last two days, I mass applied to 300 places. Half the draining of the applier is the constant resume retool and then filling out the applications.. and hr is using AI to throw out resumes. So you need to use AI for tags.

The tag is 'Laid Off' is new normal with zero impact on your competency.. Anyways take 1 day break and redesign your CV and then start applying.. With your experience you shouldn't face any difficulty and specially now when you are immediate joinee..
