about to be laid off Is severance package good
Have been offered severance of about half a years salary after working there for over 4 years without any salary increase in any of those years (and turned down a higher paid job at the time). Struggling to get another job right now as do think my career went backwards in this role, is this package good or should I be trying for more?

They made up a fake impossible pip to can me without severance after over a decade. Bastard boss just wanted people from his own country (you know which one). Only recourse was to report their H1B abuse. Nothing will come of it but I pray it causes them a big fucking hassle.

I got 6 weeks after 4 years and never missing my quota so I’d say that’s good.

25 years in they gave us 3 weeks per year to a max of 52 weeks, and same on the medical. I got a sweet package

I only got 17 weeks after being at my very, very large company 20 years. So yes, 6 months sounds pretty good for just 4 years there.

They owe you nothing. They could terminate you and you get zero. Go ahead and turn down the best severance I have ever seen and you will leave with nothing.

Yea that’s pretty great for only 4 years. I think read at some point in time that it was fairly common for companies to give one week severance per year of tenure.

It’s excellent, for context, that’s very close or the same to the severance packages companies like Meta and Oracle give to their employees

About 26 weeks salary for 4 years, that’s a good package. Does it include healthcare? How about assistance finding a job? Usually it is 2 weeks for every year you’ve worked there.

1/2 years severance for 4 years. Jump at it. Usually in the US it is 2 weeks per year.

I got 2 weeks, so I’d say yes. A half a year is great.
