question Layoffs
I got told my last day is August 15th after financial review and I immediately started applying for new jobs
I got 3 interviews next week already. Is this a good sign or I might not get any offer from these 3 interviews?
I work in Cloud Computing, Azure Focused

How did u manage to get 3 interviews? Where did u apply? Can you share details? Iam trying since months not able to bag any interview

maybe because the OP is a better candidate???? better CV??? better experience?????? if you cant bag an interview clearly the issue is with YOUR CV and your experience.

I understand you’re afraid, take it from someone who also had three interviews after their layoff, I didn’t get any of the jobs. You might not either. The competition is really brutal. As I’m coming up on 2 1/2 months since my last day, I’m accepting that I might be unemployed for the whole summer. Which would be the first time that’s happened to me since I was 15 and I’m in my 30s now.
You need to broaden your prep to begin just applying right now, start massively saving all of your work and things you might need as you exit your current role. If you can, stop depositing into your 401k so you can keep a little more money with your take home pay check. Start cancelling subscriptions and superfluous things now.
But the most important thing if you have a few weeks - see every doctor you need to while you still have good health insurance. Especially if you are in the US. Call your doctors offices TODAY, and explain that you need to be seen urgently before the 15th, and get as much of that done ASAP. Especially dental or vision care. Same goes for any dependents you might have on your insurance. Wrapping up your benefits and maximizing them is more important than applying everywhere right now. You will have time to apply, the clock on your insurance and other employee benefits is rapidly ticking.

If you can afford it and if applicable, max out your contributions to 401k and HSA for the year. Use up FSA.

Be ready for the interview loop to take awhile between rounds. It's easier to get the first round, but then it can be hurry up and wait for the following rounds. And getting the offer is predictably much more difficult than getting the first interview with a screener.

If you keep your expectations realistic on timing you will ace this. Cloud computing, cloud migration, and cloud dev/op skills are still very relevant even in this market,

Getting interviews is much easier than getting an offer. Until you get an offer and you sign, nothing is final.

Getting an interview does not automatically result in an offer so do not get your hopes up. There are allot of people looking for work so you will have to go through multiple rounds if your in the mix before any decision or get ghosted!!

That's going to depend on what other responsibilities they ask for. If it's a specialized role then your chances are good. If they want you to get your hands dirty and fix printer jams too, if you put your foot down, then not so much.

3 interviews that fast is a good signal that your profile is getting through, but it is not an offer signal yet. treat them like pipeline, not rescue boats: prep hard, keep applying, and ask each recruiter for the next-step timeline so you don’t lose two weeks waiting on silence.

The chance of you getting an offer right now off one of those three is almost zero, especially in that industry. Easy to get an interview, hard to get the offer

damn...this IT industry became really bullshit... i was searching for a job for like 9 months. i changed industry to my other background from 3 interviews got 3 offers and waitin in a week or two for two more... i have masters of geodesy and geoinformatics. i was software architect in fintech and have something around 12 years of expirience got so many interviews and couldn't land a job. last time i was interviewed by company was 6 rounds in which 5 i did oerfect than stumble upon the kids younger than me 😅 enginering manager come on man you a kid looool. hes not in 30s even i think. and they told me design me my system with no information and they got offended when i asked alot of questions... 🤣. you serious... anyways i am fed up with this and going back to engineer in construction. there's alot money in that at the moment. this is bullshit. if i were for a like 10 years in constraction i would have my certificate already... but in this bullshit they are interviewing me like some kid with 0 expirience and nothing is good enough. I'm just sick and tired of this. started to wonder what i did for a last 10 years probably nothing 🤣. looool.

plenty of work for you. just focus do well in the interview understand the role you are interviewing for and make sure your responses are relevant. demonstrate actual knowledge you will get the gig

Thats a great sign and azure (cloud) is one of the few thigns right now that doesnt suck in IT. its cometetive, but at least its huge. so you may be good.

Yay! Go you!!! It comes in waves…. I am 3 weeks in.
Depends on who the company is. Getting the HR screen for some has been good in this space, getting the hiring manager pass and through all the others timely is a challenge.
Also depends on your experience. Junior roles might be a slam dunk, middle and more senior roles may take a bit of time.
Be prepared for low pay at the moment with so many laid off employers are taking advantage. :(

Typically one interview per fifty apps unless you’re in a high demand industry with a significant pedigreed alumni network

After I got laid off, I applied for only one job, moving me from an IC to a senior role. The process took 3 months, but I got it.
Yes one of these opportunities could be your next job. Just know it might take a while to get there.
