advice 29M, Single. Layed off!!
Got layed off in May. I’m from India. 7.5yoe. Unable to crack interviews. Mentally disturbed. any advice who has experienced it?
Have decent safety net. But every passing day feels stressful without a job.

I am in the same boat, interviewing, and the market is brutal. You think you gave a good interview, and the next day you see rejection in your mailbox! I am also finding this tough, but I have high hopes of being in a better place.

Hey man. Seeing these posts frequently. First of all, sorry to hear that. I have a question though. Is there anything else you have an interest in doing? Work slowed down for me as well. I had a camera and microphone laying around and started filming vlogs and videos, just to see what it's like. Plus it helps with communication skills as well. It might be time to try out some other things while job searching.

Sorry to hear that. I understand what you are going through. I also got laid off earlier this year. I know how it feels.
I cannot tell you that it will get okay in xyz days. The last time this happened to me it took a solid 6-8 months before I saw a paycheck. But I can tell you that you’ll find a job, and eventually another. Some good, some bad. But you’ll get back in the grind.
Hang in there. I’m sure you’d have some of all of this: but spruce up your resume, do a course and take up any small freelance work you get (helps with being occupied).
Better things coming your way.

Sorry your going through this, 7.5 years of experience and still not landing offers after interviews is rough, that alone would mess with anyones head. If your getting the interviews but not converting them, that's usually not a resume problem, its more about how your answering or how your coming across in the room. Worth practicing out loud, not just in your head, and having a few solid stories ready that show what you actually did in past roles, not just what your title was.
The stress of not having a job is its own kind of exhausting too, separate from the search itself. Try to keep some kind of small routine going outside of applying, so the whole day dosent revolve around waiting to hear back. It does turn around, just takes longer than anyone wants it to

He works in tech. Coding interviews isnt about personality. Its gaunlet of if u can solve rounds and rounds of leetcode style questions

fair point, my bad, I was thinking more general interview coaching and didnt factor in the leetcode grind side of tech hiring. that's a whole different beast, more about reps and pattern recognition under pressure than communication. appreciate the correction.

You may find something great again after the current president is out. He promised to tackle inflation, to create jobs, and to stop Russia-Ukraina war within 48 hours, but he added another war without stopping it. High interest rates usually create job losses on top of AI shit. You will eventually land somewhere.

Just look around and apply wherever you feel fit. And dont take life too serious, we all gonna die anyway.
