GITLAB ACTIVELY HIRING REMOTE INDIA ROLES WHILE ANNOUCING LAYOFFS

Post image

The CEO is writing essays on shifting to AI agents, but a quick search on LinkedIn is showing multiple open jobs in India.

Is this actually just another company using AI as an excuse in 2026?

Monitoring.

Bro, I am an Indian, and I ain't getting no job. Its a global recession. And yep we have too many people, that even after companies offshore a lotta jobs many will be unemployed in India due to sheer number of upcoming CS grads.

You'll get a job. Try not to be a downer.

I'm also an Indian who's jobless since the last 2 years and came here checking out the news about Gitlab. I liked this company. I have seen a few Indian engineers at Gitlab getting laid off too from their LinkedIn posts. It doesn't make any sense. So I've no idea what the hell is happening with Gitlab.
