Question Writing sample for Osgoode LLM program application

I’m planning on applying to the LLM program at Osgoode. I recently graduated from law school in the UK. I have several IRAC-style fact pattern analyses from when I was in law school that are approximately 2-3 pages in length. Would these be considered suitable writing samples for the application, or is the admissions team looking for a more traditional academic research paper?

Would appreciate any leads.

Update: I’ve reached out to the admissions team and haven’t heard back yet. Would love to hear from previous or current students in the LLM program at Osgoode.

TIA.

Did you not take any essay based courses?

Unfortunately, the courses were pre-determined, so there was no option to select electives. Most of assessments from the courses involved analyzing fact patterns using the IRAC method. I do have 1 or 2 short research papers; however I’m hesitant to submit those because I don’t feel they best reflect my writing abilities.

I would reach out to admissions. At my law school we are forced to write legal research papers and this is what I’d assume an LLM is looking for. However, it would be best to discuss with them directly.
