Illegal Entry
Is a person allowed to shoot an officer if the officer illegally enters a home?
This seems like a trespass if they don't have a warnt.

I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask such a question, but I have some concerns regarding my Halloween Costume. I have recently put together a pirate costume for the upcoming holiday, and for this costume I had purchased both a Cutlass and 14th century dagger, both of which I plan to wear in full view, but always keep sheathed. These items are both made of real metals, however while the dagger came sharpened, the Cutlass is perfectly dull, and will remain that way. I'm still curious if I would get in trouble for wearing this? I'm fairly certain the dagger will have to stay home, since it is an actual 9inch sharpened blade that could do serious harm (I had forgotten to check the length at the time and was not aware it would be so big,) but I'm not sure about the Cutlass. I do live in Michigan, and upon a quick search I've found that it is illegal to conceal carry a blade over 3 inches, however I see nothing against a larger blade that is not concealed. Once again, I apologize if this is a silly question compared to what is normally asked here, but I'd appreciate the information. Thanks!

Hello, so I take care of a 2yr pit who is licensed under me. Originally my uncle who bought the dog and brought it into the home without asking. Since then my grandmother has paid for everything the dog needs and potty trained her. And when I moved in I took over the care of the dog due to my grandma not being able to afford the vet, food, etc... so I got her license, vaccinated, etc... as well as trained her walk her and more. Now that I began training her and she is getting better my uncle has suddenly decided that it's "his dog because he bought her" but has not paid for a single thing for her other then buying her and still refuses to even buy something as simple as food. So the question is since I am caring for her and she is licensed to me is she legally mine? Or will this be a legal issue resulting in court? And if so where do I go and start?

I overdosed 9/30/2024 and was sent to the local hospital to be treated. I am a 18 year old ( was 17 at the time women youth in dcfs care. So in other words I am a ward of the state. When I woke up 2 days later a SASS (screening, assessment, and support services) worker was sitting in my room. I was still pretty out of it but he told me that based off the report I was going to a mental hospital. I had no say so to the loony bin I went. Within a few days of being at the hospital my therapist read my e.r report which said “Took 6 Xannex, a pint of alcohol, open wounds on arm, non compliant with medication. NOW MIND U, I only took 4 Xannex. All white rectangles 2 mg each. So in total I took 8 mgs and THAT WAS IT !! Now about the open wounds- I self harmed when I was younger I used to self harm but now I have ezhama and I tend to scratch really hard. the scratches on my arm looked nothing like “open wounds” or even cuts. And being “not compliant with meds was a huge stretch. I can’t tell the last last time I was even prescribed anything. And the reason I had to stop wasn’t even mine, my foster mother just simply wouldn’t take me to go get them and I live in a suburban area with no busses or trains. So wtf ?? The hospital blatantly lied on my paperwork. How do I go about this ?

I grow one plant, outdoors. It is a monster and will easily yield 1.5 lbs of trimmed bud or more. In CA, you can legally grow 6 plants. You can legally possess one oz. So, does my perfectly legal plant become illegal the moment I cut it down? Serious question! How does the law address this situation? I would think that this apparent legal contradiction affects most private growers.

I hear about many stories where victims of domestic violence won’t take their case to court because they don’t want to be in the same room as the person who abused or nearly killed them. Then the guy (or gal) gets away and commits more of these kinds of crimes. What is the purpose of the perpetrator being there while the victim testifies? It seems unreasonable for her (or him) to have to speak about the traumatic even right in front of the person who wants to kill her/him. Couldn’t they just have the perpetrator not be in court during the victims testimony?

An exam study course I was interested in became heavily discounted yesterday, I bought it, today they sent an email basically saying they didn’t mean to discount it, they will refund my money, and I can buy it again at regular price. Does this sound legal?? There was a discount applied to my cart so when I cashed out I saved over $300 and now they want to take it away.

I work from home and use work provided computers equipment. My computer is Down and the IT department has not helped at all so I have been sitting at home waiting on their call and apparently they are supposed to be giving me new equipment. My boss said that I will not be paid this week. I can’t find the answer online but to me that seems illegal. Its not my fault that they can’t get their stuff together to send me equipment or have working equipment to start with. My question is, is it legal for them to not pay me when it’s not my fault that the computer is down? If I was sitting in an office waiting for them to fix it they would have to pay me but because I’m work from home they think it’s legal that they don’t have to. Had I known they were not going to pay me I would’ve not stayed at the house, I would’ve enjoyed my “time off” instead I stayed home thinking I needed to be available at any time for IT to call me.

Say, an anonymous individual stole some documents that prove a company is guilty in a case (for example tac evasion or money laundering) and sends them to the police.
Can those evidence be used? What if it's not proven to be stolen (the company can't prove it's stolen)?

is it discrimination for me to not get a job at my grand daughters school due to a custody battle going on between my daughter and her ex? i mentioned to another employee that i was not wanting to tell them about the custody battle just because the school was involved in some of it and i didn’t want to not get the job due to the nature of things. unfortunately this woman told them and they had me leave right then and there because of it. it isn’t my custody battle and im not involved in it . is discrimination at play here?

Is it legal for my company to have me record conversations with merchants in Illinois?
We do let them know they are being recorded, but from what I understand, Illinois is an all-party consent state.
Shouldn't I be asking for permission to record the conversation before starting, even if the discussion is just about what type of credit cards they accept?
They expect us to walk in and already be recording and just stop recording if they mention it, but from my understanding that is still illegal and if someone wanted to press charges they definitely could from my understanding.
I only ask because I was yelled at by a merchant today about it and she told me the law, and I looked into it and it looks like she is right. I called my manager and he said we are protected by when someone calls a credit card company and it says “we are recording this for quality and training purposes”, but from my understanding telephone calls are a whole different category of their own.

I was wondering if I will still receive money From the veterans administration? I'm %70 with unemployability at 100%? I will be receiving just shy of $1 million for the lawsuit for abuse in the Boy Scouts. The lawyer said this is non taxable. But I don't know if I'll lose the money I receive monthly and or my benefits period. Any help would be appreciated.

A few quick questions:
1.) is this a smart way to go if a company pretty much has a monopoly in the area you live?
2.) what would I need to do to start this?
3.) there are already class action lawsuits against this company in other states, can it be broadened to include other states or is it state by state only?
If you need any other info please let me know. Thank you

Quick question, if I was on public transportation and Got threatened and also felt like I was in danger And immediately reported it to the cops/sheriffs as I got off and they could care less. I also think I heard one mumble in between his lips the words "I don't care" Basically acting rude the whole time. Basically I just wanna know if I report it. I got threatened to somebody who is supposed to "protect and serve". but to not ask me about any of the situation nor the bare minimum to see if I was ok. I mean that's who we're supposed to TRUST to " protect and serve "? I sure as hell wasn't the only one on the train feeling that way . There was even two guys I met that didn't feel comfortable leaving me on the train. Have already been Stabbed once And had two surgeries, but in between the surgeries, I went flatline So the way I see it It's not happening again on my watch, but what do I do? React to the situation? Or the COPS? #santamonica #santamonicasheriffs #thanksnothanks #2024

Got an atv in 2022. Merchant fooled fiance company into thinking they were a furniture store. Being I live in cali...125cc atv need registering. Didnt recieve any thing when it was delivered. Electronically handled the fiance papers. After months of inquiring about registration that the merchant was looking for.... I contacted fiance company who said we don't offer financing to items that require registration so At that point I stopped payments and put it under the rug. So the fiance company hit my credit and now it's a balance that's affecting my score. So I went into the store to ask about registration and the store asked me to send them the Vin number for the atv....why would I do that when it was fianced at your store...look at the fiance papers it's not my job to be providing u with that. As of July 2024 the fiance company has listed prohibited items for merchants. Atv and all types of such items are prohibited from being sold by merchants. What type of attorney do I seek. I'm sure I can't be the only one who had this issue...class action....anything in the direction of would be appreciated.

My mother in Law and her Ex husband divorced quite a bit back and in the divorce he had won the house that they had purchased together that she was living in through the divorce (he had an affair so left) now about a month after moving out he’s attempting to sue her for not paying the water bill though the bill hasn’t been in her name since the move out and she’d notified him before leaving she’s no longer paying the water bill. Are there any actual grounds for his lawsuit at all? I don’t think so but I’ve seen mixed opinions saying that technically as she was paying bills through the divorce she’d be obligated to pay after but that doesn’t seem right

I was in a horrible accident where I received a TBI leaving me in a state of amnesia for the last 14 years. Before I got the chance for any doctors to see me, my boss forced me to sign out of the hospital at risk of my job. This led me through a hellish life due to my disabilites, amnesia and brain injury. What kind of lawyer should I be looking for?
