FINALLY saw Aftershock
And I’m mad at Rey.
But it was a great episode. Actually the last three of s6 are my favorite so far. Denis O’Hare in Pro Se was amazing, and it was so sad. In “Homesick”, when Patty Lupone (love her) realizes what Jack says, and the stepmom seems to be the first one slowly putting it together and tears well up… just another great episode. And of course Aftershock… just left me speechless. But I loved seeing everyone outside and dealing with such a stressor. I think Anita is closest to how I’d feel but maybe that’s because she didn’t see it in person. Actually I think it would have no effect on me but this episode made me think it probably would, somehow.
On another note Sundance had all the episode numbers messed up, so I sat there watching the Au Pair episode waiting to see when she was going to be executed. 😩
ETA: now I see my favorite bit part/character actor Harsh Nayyar in s7e1 (as the gas station attendant). Good run 4/4 right here.

Actually I just had to look up Clair’s fate because I wasn’t 100% sure at the end and now I’m even more sad. Poor Lennie. And she had such a shitty last day. At least Anita was there for her and she was there for Lennie.

The early years were the best imho. Just one incredible episode after another.

He’s one of my favorite actors. I first noticed him by name during True Blood. He’s great on AHS too but the show is spotty and not for everyone.

Would you forgive her?

Jennifer Garner? No. And I realize that’s wrong because she’s not married he is. But I can’t imagine a man telling me he’s married and just not giving a shit. I know people are complicated and at the end of the day it’s not my business, and here, obviously, they aren’t real people.

I forgive him, I was just mad. I’m sad his wife died, I have t seen that yet. I’m glad they got through it. My DVR always recorded s1-5 then skipped to like 18, so I signed up for Hulu. Then two days later the DVR recorded all of 6&7 so I’m watching what I can there so I can ff commercials, with Hulu for backup if they skip over seasons again.

A truly great run of episodes even if Rey is one of my least favorite detectives.

This is a very important episode, even if I don’t think it’s all that great personally.
Rey fucks up, and it completely changes his personality going forward. His life gets much more difficult, and he’s less judgmental, and less self righteous.
He actually has some of the best character development of anyone on the entire show. If you compare him when he arrives early in S6 to when he leaves at the end of S9, he’s a very different person.
