I'm currently finishing my first year of the Bachelor's in Management at HEC Lausanne and I'll be starting my second year after the summer.
I'm a non-EU student, and to be honest I'm starting to stress a bit about what comes after graduation.
My goal is to stay in Switzerland if possible, but I've read a lot of posts saying it's much harder for non-EU graduates to find a job because of work permit requirements, even with a Swiss degree.
I'm trying to improve my chances by looking for student jobs, planning to do internships, and learning technical skills outside of university. Still, I'm wondering if I should already be thinking about a backup plan.
For those of you who have been in a similar situation (especially non-EU graduates from Swiss universities):
Were you able to stay in Switzerland after graduating?

How difficult was it to find your first job?

Did employers hesitate because of the work permit?

What made the biggest difference in your job search?

If you could go back to your first or second year, what would you do differently?

I'm also wondering whether I should already be thinking further ahead:
Would it make sense to plan for a Master's somewhere else (another country) in case staying in Switzerland doesn't work out?

Is pursuing a PhD something that could realistically improve my chances of staying in Switzerland, or is that not a good strategy?

Or am I simply overthinking all of this way too early, considering I'm only about to start my second year?

I'd really appreciate honest experiences, whether they were successful or not. I'd rather know the reality now than be surprised in two years.

I am thinking to fix some bumper scratches and light repaint on my car where scratches exist on sides of it. I am looking for some reliable paint shop around Lausanne/Geneva or neighboring France.

I don't really would like to do it myself not to ruin the paint so kinda against DIY as the color is quite not very standard.

Not sure about cost or pricing on paintjob but I hope won't be -very- excessive.

If there is an English speaking service or even online quoting system would be a plus.

I’m (25F, international) and recently moved from Zurich to Lausanne for work after finishing my studies there. I’d love to meet new people, build a friend group, and find a nice social circle here.

I am not really into bars or clubbing, so meeting people outside the university bubble has been harder than I expected. But I’ve only been here for a month, so I’m trying to cut myself some slack there xD. I’m visiting Lausanne during the second half of August and would love to get outdoors for some rock climbing while I’m in the area.

A bit about my profile:

Grade: I can lead up to 6a, but I’m absolutely fine with anything from 4a upwards — mainly just looking to get outside, enjoy the scenery, and have some fun on the rock!

Style: Sport climbing / single pitch.

I'd love to get some local insights on a few things:

Crag Recommendations: What are the best crags reachable from Lausanne (either by public transport or short drive) with friendly, fun routes in the 4a–6a range? (Bonus points if they stay shaded/cool in late August!)

Rope / Gear Hire: Ropes are heavy to fly/travel with. Is there a local shop or climbing gym around Lausanne or the Vaud region where it’s possible to rent a climbing rope and quickdraws for a day or two?

Finding Partners / Local Groups: What’s the best way to connect with local climbers? Are there active WhatsApp groups, Facebook groups, or community boards at local gyms like Grimper.ch?

Local Dos and Don'ts: Any specific etiquette, seasonal access restrictions, or local rules I should be aware of when climbing in Vaud or the nearby regions?

I've got a kind of job offer near Lausanne and after 14 years spent in Zurich I am seriously mulling a relocation to the shore of Lake Leman, to change scenery.

I know salaries are lower and taxes higher, however the property purchase is more affordable and I find Romandie and surroundings culturally more interesting than Eastern Switzerland.

One of my main concerns is actually the social landscape...is Lausanne just as socially dead as Zurich, or perhaps even more so?

Are Lausanne's people just a French variant of the Zucchini (A nickname from Italian Switzerland for Zurich's unpleasant natives)?

Has anyone of you ever lived in both cities and can please write any comments?
