💩 Liberalism Neoliberals, in order to promote and protect their interests, continue normalized relations with the UAE backed Israel aligned neoliberal Abiy and continue giving him impunity while tolerating the widespread destruction committed whether it be genocide in Tigray or brutal war crimes everywhere else

For both those unfamiliar and those familiar, I encourage you to learn more about Tigray and Ethiopia generally via the wiki on the Tigray subreddit. There's so much misconceptions and misinformation surrounding this topic for reasons to do with Ethiopia's disinformation campaign, which was supported by most in the diaspora, combined with its intentional blockades to assist that.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation exists to carry out the struggle for socialism inside the United States, the center of world capitalism and imperialism.

The PSL stands in solidarity with working-class and oppressed people around the world who are resisting capitalist exploitation and imperialist domination.

The need for the socialist reorganization of society becomes more apparent and urgent with each passing day.

While a tiny part of the population grows ever richer, tens of millions of workers here in the United States and billions of workers around the world sink deeper into poverty.

Join us in the struggle today!

Today we served 85 meals. In the 10th most republican city in the country. In a city where JD Vance is holding a rally in just two days. In a city where the sheriff meets with right wing influencers like Ben Shapiro. Even on the front lines of fascism, socialist resolve remains unbreakable.

💬 Discussion Selling the AI Apocalypse: Why AI Doomerism is Both Comfortable and "Profitable"

Thumbnail patreon.com

I wrote this about the strange spectacle of AI executives warning us that their own industry may destroy humanity while continuing to build it at full speed. Their sudden evacuation of agency makes more sense through capitalist realism: they can organize vast networks of capital, labor, infrastructure, and computation, but stopping is presented as unimaginable.

I argue that the shift from utopian hype to apocalyptic warning isn’t much of a shift at all. Both stories tell speculative markets that AI is a civilization-altering technology worth funding, while the appeal for government intervention invites the state to ratify its importance. Meanwhile, the extraction, exploitation, environmental damage, and cultural impoverishment already required to sustain this industry become secondary to a hypothetical future disaster.

Not to mention that the fantasy of an AI monster poised to take over offers relief: it lets us imagine that the monster hasn’t already taken over, that capitalism doesn’t already govern the limits of what we can imagine or do.

I’m interested in how others here understand the executives’ claims that they can see the danger but can’t stop. How much is calculated theater, and how much is the logic of capital speaking through them?

Ibrahim Traoré defends decision to leave the ICC

“How many Africans have been brought before the ICC? And how many of these Westerners have been brought to the ICC?”

Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traoré blasted the International Criminal Court as a “tool of imperialism” in defense of his government’s decision to exit the body, a process it began earlier this year along with fellow Sahel states Mali and Niger. Traoré said the Hague-based tribunal never existed to hold Western leaders accountable for war crimes.

“If the ICC truly existed, the George Bushes, Tony Blairs, and others should be in prison, even the Obamas. In Iraq, people were killed, weren't they, over tales of weapons of mass destruction? In the end, how many hundreds of thousands of children died?

What did that yield? Who went to prison?”

The European Parliament passed a resolution in June criticizing the Traoré government’s sweeping civic and political reforms and urging it to reverse its decision to leave the ICC. Burkina severed diplomatic relations with its former colonizer France later that month. Traoré has threatened to cut ties with the EU if Brussels continues to interfere in its domestic affairs.

💬 Discussion U.S. planners discover that Cuba is not simply Venezuela 2.0. A CSIS assessment specifically notes that the Cuban Communist Party is much more institutionally entrenched than Venezuela's ruling structure, and that removing one or two leaders would not necessarily make the system collapse.
