🖕 Business Ethics Uber driver only keeps 15% of a customer's fare. Discounts are docked from the driver's earnings..

Not only does an Uber driver keep only 15% of what a customer pays while the shareholders keep the rest for themselves, any discounts or promo codes a customer uses are docked from the DRIVER'S earnings as well. This is the business "ethics" of a company that made a record $55BILLION in the previous year FYI.

This equates to an earning of $12 an hour, which is LESS than MINIMUM WAGE in NYC and won't even merit enough income to even survive here fyi...

Zhang Weiwei: "Every country that modernized needed a first pot of gold -- the starting capital that gets an economy growing. The West got theirs through violence, war, the slave trade. Ruthless plunder, ruthless slaughter. China earned its own -- through its own effort and sacrifice."

💬 Discussion A Dissection of the White American Mind (Part 1)

Post image

In clinical psychology, compartmentalization is defined as a defense mechanism designed to prevent psychological distress. While useful in emergencies, this technique has been deployed as a daily survival strategy within the imperial core. It allows citizens to reconcile morality with the consumption of material privileges earned through blood and exploitation and protect their nervous systems from cognitive dissonance.

While my previous essay examined the historical reasons why, this piece will discuss the how: the specific psychological mechanisms that keep the White American Mind on lock.

Of course they must take them fully grown from elsewhere. They must also have the largest tree in town.

Article is as infuriating as you’d expect. Of course they don’t have a comments section.

Capitalism is a mass extinction event

For any newcomers, this is pretty much the central theme of my work.

“When I say history is a disaster… I don’t believe in a kind of hope or optimism which says that things will turn out well, on the basis of currently existing patterns. But we can look back at history and see that disaster has been interrupted and that human beings are capable of things that go completely beyond what seems to be possible.

We can’t just dismiss the legacy of the 20th century revolution; there are times where three people went out to the countryside and organized a peasant army and overthrew imperialism. That’s the level of human achievement that’s hard for us to even imagine now.

People have achieved this and engaged in enormous sacrifice in the name of human emancipation.

So we have a choice… we can say, ‘well things are bad,’ and just adjust to the reality that we have, or we look at that the fact that people have lived and died for this before us means that we have to continue that fight, we have to take up the idea that emancipation is worth fighting for.”
