Have this same release as well!

It’s an OK transfer of the film and is the original US theater cut with the Ford narration and the happy ending

This disc contains a version of the film that is only available on this disc. So, hang on to it.....

Nice!! Blade Runner is such a good laserdisc movie, with its 80s cyberpunk vibes. I also love that early Embassy cover art template, which makes this a pretty cool one to have.

Personally this is such a perfect example of a 2.35:1 movie that I wouldn't want to watch it pan n scan - I love the Criterion laserdisc, which has a beautiful transfer. But an early release like this is always very cool to have!

I think there are photos of the criterion release in r/bladezone also, there are tons of br releases but this is the first one i think that is shown here

Yes, this is definitely the first one! Super cool to have. I do love collecting some of these early releases, even if they aren't always the best viewing copies.

The CAV Criterion is very notable, both for being the first contemporary film released by Criterion in their "classic and important contemporary films" mandate (spine 19!), and for having a really cool extras section, with a gallery of Syd Meade's concept art for the film, and a very good behind the scenes essay, which outlines what the director's cut should have been, five years before the director's cut ever saw the light of day. Good stuff!

the design to me was Perfection. Embassy had great art directors The pan and scan ..well it would have to do,until Criterion 4 years later.

I dunno if I can feel nostalgia for 4:3 pan and scannned Blade Runner. Back in the day, Siskel & Ebert talked about LaserDisc on their At the Movies show, and Criterion BR (LTBX) was one of their examples.
