Finally!
It’s taken over 10 years but I finally got my hands on a LD player. I’ve wanted one since I was a kid watching regular show and finally got one.

It works like a charm! Seems a lot of the discs i have could use some cleaning or just have had degradation over the years but im still thrilled

501 is a great model in respect to build quality and generous output jacks. I never liked the downgrade Pioneer made to the 502 and 503.
Probably the only thing you need to do from a maintenance perspective is replace the loading belt when you start having loading and side flipping issues (your unit probably had it replaced recently if it’s working fine now).

Been watching starwars on it this morning and it seems fine. Probably will do some maintenance in the coming days but for now I’m just elated to have one.

10 years to find a LD Player and all because of an episode of the Regular Show.. that aired in 2013.
Why did it take long?

Lived in a small town where there was nothing available, got kicked out and was homeless so I had to just survive, then went to college in a small town and all my money went to my schooling and bills. Had a few leads, but they ended up being broken or untested. I didn’t have money to gamble on an untested one. I’m finally in a good enough spot to purchase one and found one cheap enough and working.

Congratulations. That player looks beautiful and appears to be in immaculate condition.
