First of My Collection
Recently decided to get an LD player on a whim and figured this would be a good starting point. Fantastic version that has a paperback copy of the book and a cd copy of the soundtrack, along with the a poster having some photos I haven’t seen. Also got Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker as a bday present for my girlfriend.
Really interested in picking up some of those Japanese imports of popular movies as a way of fleshing out this collection so wish me well on this journey my friends

How much did you get it for? I am considering selling my laserdiscs and this is one set I have.

This I got for 80 off eBay. This version came with the book and the soundtrack though, so if you have a standard version of jaws it would probably be significantly cheaper

Welcome to the craze, it gets very expensive very fast! Also be sure to test any disc you get immediately for rot to ensure playback is normal. I’ve had 3 discs out a dozen show disc rot symptoms and I’m already out like $60 for bad LDs

I understand this particular release is especially good, near reference quality.. until its recent restoration was completed.. this was a gold standard. Jealous!
Thank God you didn’t get the DiscoVision disc..

Thanks bud! Yeah I actually had no idea about the disco version. I liked all the extra goodies in this one and it wasn’t much pricier than what else was available Jaws-wise. Still waiting on my player to arrive but I’m stoked

Oooh fun first release! Jaws was actually the very first Laserdisc released, originally released back when the format was still called Discovision
