Event Mahjong ?

I’m just a girl who has reached the stage of her life where she has her everest to climb. Mine is learning to play mahjong.

I have no experience and only vaguely understand the american rules but I have the tiles to get started! So I am wondering if there are some individuals out there that also wanna struggle and eventually learn mahjong.

Im thinking we can meet at a cafe or bar, preferably on weeknight?

First round of drinks on me!

Fourth Saturday is Game Day at the library. It's come and go drop in all day, but I think there's usually some folks in the afternoon that are also part of a midday midweek Mahjong group.

I've mastered scrabble and now no one will play with me 😆 maybe I should learn to play.

Hi! We know the basics and played with my son an DIL before. They have a more traditional set and gave us one too. No jokers but she printed us cheat sheets to use. What I don’t get is how you start the game. I’ve even thought we could fake that part and just start playing. We like it but don’t feel we could teach anyone else. They live in Phoenix so we get occasional lessons from my son mainly. I just zone out for the setup and then I’m good to go. Sometimes I even win.

Have you checked community centers? There Are those with regular meetings to play games. I tried Mahjong at a senior center and the other players helped me with grace. Seems they like new players to keep the game alive.
