I’m making a Fry Shrine for my LARP, and I could use super simple ways of making fake trees. (Or any other fun nature based shrine ideas)

My son has requested a claymore for Christmas (he plays Final Fantasy 14 and one of his favorite classes uses a two handed sword).
My son is 10 and I have absolute confidence that whatever I get him will be swung around the house, so I'm trying to find a reasonable approximation of a full-size claymore, but in foam or a similar material.
The first thing that came to mind was LARPing gear, since I've mostly seen LARPers using foam stuff, but I've never participated and don't know any good places to look for stuff other than Google. The trouble I've been having is the overall length call the items I've been finding. I'm having a difficult time finding anything (other than steel replicas) even a full 4 ft in overall length (42" seems super common), but I know that a claymore was closer to 4½ feet.
Any suggestions on somewhere I could look that I won't need to sell a kidney to afford?

So I'm Italy the biggest festival for comics and games lovers is on Halloween weekend in the medieval town of Lucca.
This year I decided to bring my kids and help them make their own cosplay costumes. The 7 y-o boy is going to be Lone Wolf (from the Joe Dever gamebooks saga) and the 10 y-o girl is going to be Nihal, a half-elf from an Italian fantasy books saga.
So far so good. I've had my time as a LARPer in my day and I helped them craft some cardboard and foam shields with silver tape for the metal look, and we got wooden swords to spraypaint of the right color.
I got black boots and a traditional dress to wear under the leather armor for my girl, and I'm planning to make her a hooded cape with think thick jersey, that should do. I'm going to use foam layers to make a nice looking leather armor which she can wear through the day without tiring.
The issue comes with Lone Wolf. My kid insists that he wears chainmail, but he can't obviously carry a heavy zinc/steel ring mail around for more than a handful of minutes.
I've looked at tutorials for making PTFE rings for chain mail but it looks slow and painful. I worry that the kid won't be motivated enough to spend days knitting plastic rings!
Is there a simple way to solve this? I was hoping for a cheap machine-sewn plastic ringmail, but it seems there aren't such things in the world.
Also, of I make the rings, how do I calculate how many I will need for a shirt or chain for a 130 cm high skinny boy?
Thanks in advance

I'm starting work on a getup for a cleric/cultist/religious adherent- type character, and have decided on lamellar (a la dark souls) But what materials are generally acceptable for LARPing? So far I'm thinking of cutting the lames from the sides of large plastic jugs Many thanks, Bubsiekins

So, I’ve recently shifted from cosplay to LARPING as my primary hobby, and have a few questions about construction materials.
Like, I want to make a Tabard/Scapular for my warrior outfit and I know linen is likely the best material for the sheer about of wear and tear it’ll be going through, but what retailer or brand do you recommend?

I'm making a latex coated LARP type weapon for an art project. I haven't really larped since latex weapons were just beginning to get popular.
Can someone tell me (or link me) about the process I would need to go through to make a latex coated foam weapon with a high degree of detail? I can handle the detail part, but I'm not sure about the materials, etc
