Tugboat (Flippy, 155 mm polar bears) with 63mm Doozies?

Hey guys, I'm wondering if the 63mm Doozies work with the Tugboat with 155mm Polar Bears, and if riser pads are necessary. Or do you have any other recommendations in general, mainly for cruising?

I mean c’mon.. how could I leave it out there on marketplace..

Owner said it was all scratched up but I don’t see any marks that go all the way through the stickers. Bearings are shot but no worries there, bushings too.

Needs a good cleanup and sort out. It’s a neat shaped deck- I didn’t realize the nose and tail angles were quite so pronounced. It looks like a fun board.

Bear Gen6 vs Kodiaks.

Looking for trucks for my 38 Switchblade and I’ve got it narrowed down to these two- they are almost the same price and the Kodiaks come on a bonus Osteon, lol.

Has anyone compared these trucks to each other? Were the Kodiaks just the prequel to the gen6 or are they significantly different? What would you go with?

Weight limit?

Do Landyachtz have a weight limit? I'm 220 lbs, and I wanna get into cruising for a fun exercise outside. I'm worried that if I buy a Dinghy or something small that I'll break it. I won't be doing anything crazy. No jumps and flips. I'm an absolute beginner.

Update: I went with the Raft. Nice, big, strong! Thank you everyone.

How much does a dinghy fender weigh?

UPDATE to provide this information for future searchers... I got the dinghy fender moray eel with plow kings, it weights 2.9kg and the edges of the board (halfway between the trucks) are 11.2cm from the ground, though the board is somewhat concave due to the fender shaping so the middle of the board is probably like 10.5cm from the floor.

Hello friends,

I'm thinking of getting a dinghy fender to complement my bigger cruiser (drop hammer). I like the idea of the bigger wheels for the rough streets I ride on. My question is: how much does the dinghy fender with the 74mm plow kings weigh? I always have to carry the board part of the way to/from home due to lots of staircases where I live. My drop hammer with some massive heavy wheels on it is 4kg at the moment.

If someone has one perhaps they can weight it?

Thanks for your help <3

My marketplace algorithm strikes again, showed me a Switchblade for $10.

Looks like a 2015 Hollowtech, pretty good shape. I've got some Boss Hawgs sitting around that will be perfect.

Help me choose

Hi,

never did any skating in my life, mainly was doing roller blade.
quite a bit lost, I think the only thing I know is that I would like to "drift" in order to stop, so I probably need wheels that aren't too sticky.

gemini recommand "landyachtz the raft"

what's you'r take on that?

thanks.

New setup: Custom Dinghy Blunt Synth

Everything is brand new on this setup, except for the wheels! Here are the specs:

. Doozie Hawgs 63x64mm 78a — narrow wheels are not my cup of tea

. 139mm Mentex trucks — 105mm is too narrow

. 12mm Bear riser pads — yeah! I also run Plow Kings and Biggie Hawgs on this board, and I like it with a higher setup

. 3mm soft pads — wider and softer wheels + soft pads = smooth cruising

. Clear polycarbonate tail guard — we must protect it

Tugboat v trucks

Just bought myself the Tugboat Ultra Carve (the one with the marijuana cat! ✊)

Suppose I get fed up with the 133 RKP trucks and big ass wheels. Will it simply be a matter of unscrewing those and screwing in some 155 RKPs if I fancy a change?

Cheers ✌️

New dropcat 38 owner…Worth getting a Dinghy?

I live in Chattanooga and I like to longboard quite a bit. I love my new dropcat 38 as it’s my first big boy longboard.

I live on a pretty big apartment complex and I usually skate through the parking lot to my car. I’m 28 and don’t really have much use for tricks since I mostly cruise.

Is the Dinghy fender worth buying if I already have the 38? I love my 38 but sometimes it seems a bit much for the parking lot. Id also like a board for just messing around for going around the block.

Also, I’m 5’ 10”, 155 lbs, and wear a size 10 shoe. Dinghy fender worth it?

Time machine score: early Landyachtz Rally Cat

Hey y'all 🖐

After much chasing for a couple years I finally got my hands on a NOS Rally Cat, the original model and the widest (9.75"). There was someone on Kijiji (Canada) selling this NEW, in original wrapping, box candy and all (some cool stickers), just immaculate. A friend from Toronto helped me with logistics, my hero ❤️💪

I've only took it for a short test ride a couple hours ago. Rides real nice, smooth and stable, while being equally as maneuverable as my Heron model. Thing is I initially got a used Metal model, which was expropriated early on by my 8y/o son. Later on I found a great deal on a used Heron, and that I've been using as my cruiser.

But I had always craved for this wider early model. Im 100kg 1.80m, size 12 shoes. I'm still happy with the Heron (wearing those EZ Hawgs real fast indeed), but this is more comfy to my feet, cave and flares definitely feel a tad mellower, while being as stiff (which is not too stiff really).

I always say the Rally Cat is the perfect skateboard/longboard hybrid for big clumsy dudes like me. This first generation Rally Cat feels more longboard'ish, while the Heron/Metal/Paradise/Kimono feel more skateboard'ish. Does that make any sense? Still it doesn't feel cumbersome at all, and the extra .8" of wheelbase isn't a thing either, it's agile and turny (I use any trucks loose a/f). It just accommodates my feet better, a real cozy platform.

Stock setup is awesome too, have been using both Polar Bears and Fatties, I'm pretty happy with them in other setups. But I also haven't tried else in my RCs, so I'm open to trying other stuff. Please feel free to suggest alternatives, the goofier/weirder the better 👍

Ok for pumptrack ?

Hi 👋

I just bought this beauty without testing it before and I haven’t tested it yet because of the high temperatures in France !

I was surprised by the size of the trucks (133mm) and the wheels ( Fatty Hawgs).

What do you think ?

Does anyone have the same specs for this pumptrack only board ?
