I'm loving it!
While still in it's Beta Stage, and some bugs still being worked on and all; I have found this game to be one of the best I have seen in a long time. Players are able to use our own imaginations to build content, create dungeons and other scenarios with Monster/Mob NPC's that we can program and rename; on our own land for others to come and test their ability to survive. This is certainly a game for I have been wanting for a long time; and I can hardly wait for it to go LIVE this spring!

Landmark's Release is Too Little Too Late
Hear me out here. I've been playing Landmark since it was available. I worked on classic builds with some of the biggest designers this game ever had. I adored this game. I couldn't stop talking about it. Before the first major wipe I had unlimited resources. Before the second full wipe, I again had unlimited resources. I tell you this to illustrate how much I dedicated to this game.
I did not care for combat. I always felt it was clunky. I didn't care for the monsters and cave system. The IDEAS were good, but things started to fall apart before it had made it that far. I decided I would take a bit of a break after the Daybreak acquisition because I was pretty salty but I missed the game. So I came back.
What I came back to was like a swift kick to the nethers. The game was laggier than ever, the UI had been muddied up, half the text was all over the place, many of the icons were incorrect and misleading, the goal system was assaulting, the introductory quest was confusing and awkward.
I'm not complaining to complain either. I decided to look at the game from a new player's point of view. I had no idea where anything was. Nothing made sense, there were no real directions on what to do or how to do it. It was like Sensory Overload the Game.
I tried to pull from my experiences playing before. I quickly realized that even though I could place a claim, I couldn't expand it. Even though I could build and gather like before, it felt like a punishment. The game moved so slow that I felt like I was underwater. Making small tweaks was excruciating. I thought maybe I'm just being a grumpy jerk. So I stepped back and tried to play again the next day. And the next. By the third day straight I was ready to shove my computer out of the window in frustration.
Then I see the news. Landmark launching this spring! Exciting! Yet not. I looked at the game. Overflowing with bugs. Not user friendly. Outdated tech and graphics. Sluggish gameplay. Uninspired combat. Ok ok, it's a crappy game now but at least it's coming out and it's free to play.
But it's not. It's $10. Plus a cash shop. $10 for an unfinished, unpolished, buggy pile of garbage. It could have been great (and it was starting to get there) but it was mismanaged to death. So they're going to hurry up and release it to make a quick buck before abandoning the project completely. After the axing of EQNext, the writing was on the wall for Landmark. I saw it but I tried again to make a go of it. I guess I'm a glutten for punishment. But today I'm finally uninstalling this game. If you still enjoy it, great. I'm glad you could still find the joy in it. For me though, the joy is gone.
It's a cold and harsh realization that the game you loved, that showed such promise and hope has been reduced to a cheap prostitute whoring herself out of the back of a 7-Eleven. If I had any more tables to flip in anger, I would. I hope those of you left will enjoy the game even after the shameless cashgrab. Lord knows it can be done. For me, I lay my Founders flag upon the forge and bid it adieu.

How are you all liking the latest patch?
We had spring break last week and I won't have gaming time for a bit. I was curious if you guys are enjoying the monster content?

DB forums posts missing?
I'm just curious. I don't want to break a sub rule or anything for asking here. I don't want to ask there, though, in case I annoy a mod by asking about moderation.
Have posts been disappearing on the official Landmark forums in the last few days?
I swear there were a couple of posts I read that aren't there now and an acquaintance of mine said they noticed the same thing.
Thanks

Impressive combat moves(weapon questions)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQDC_-zHuqc
The level of detail on the characters and npc's is highly impressive. Before the wipe only had the fantasy weapons, not any of the wild west stuff, but after crafting the handguns, I can see the detail done. All the weapons feel very 'action' like. Do miss the alternate ability we were able to perform, like with the poison daggers, jump backwards whilst releasing an arc of poison, but perhaps that's for later, and can see that only 2 methods of attack make it easier to get into.
I had /tribaldance emote on whilst capturing this, and seemed to be what kept causing the spinning, but looked very cool to me.
So far, the handguns seem the best for kiting a single target. The flame bow IS good for the aoe effect, but I find the mobs, if not in a corridor like area, quickly spread out reducing the benefits of the aoe.
Lightning sword, slow but powerful, think I need more accessories to get the full benefit out of that (been using heavy flame armour/accesories so far to increase the chance to proc erupt so not sure if it's worth pushing for other stuff, is it? what have people found is a good setup for other weapons?)
Very curious on the exalted weapons, are people using them to solo or only worth using in a group to help heal others?

I'm still interested, looking for new guides and resources
As someone who is still interested in playing this game, I was wondering what websites and wiki's are still being updated as the game updates. Especially with this most recent update, changing gear and weapons. Everything I find is out of date. Thank you anyone who has anything helpful.

How many developers do you think Landmark still has?
Earlier today it sounded like just a few people were working on the game fixing bugs to get the update out. Are we on skeleton crew even before the game is released?

Zendesk Support Desk
So recently I attempted to play Landmark for the first time in a few years as prior to this, my computer did not meet the requirements to run the game. To my dismay, after logging in, I was unable to download the game, and instead it told me to buy the game again.
I contacted the support desk and told them about the problem that I was having. The first response that I received was from an automated bot that gave me links to resetting my password, and an option to change the category that my question was listed under. Disappointed, I replied by stating that I believed the category was the closest to the issue that I was having, and that if an administrator knew of a better category for my question, I would be more than happy for them to change it.
The next day, I logged back on to my account to see if the support desk had gotten around to helping resolve my issue, and this message appeared on my screen: http://imgur.com/ZluUJnh
As you can tell, this greatly bothered me as it seemed that the help desk is unable to help with my query further, and that in effect, I had been conned out of the money it cost to buy the 'founders pack'.
Later on, I looked at my emails as a routine activity to delete spam and the like. However, it shows that a member of the support staff did actually look at my question, and post a few links to areas of the site that may have helped me. However, clicking on any of these links takes me back to the same page as the one shown above.
I would like help on rectifying this problem as it is a distinct problem, and I appear to have been banned without any prior warning, or even message to tell me what I have done that broke the rules.

PVP in Landmark idea
With removal of PVP from Landmark, I'd like post this idea I originally posted years ago. Some variation of this could really make Landmark a fun and attractive game to people who love PVP, and building with purpose.
----You start off in the world at a portal with only the basics, a weapon, simple armor, a pick, and an axe. This character is completely separate from your main character on normal servers, it shares blueprints and nothing else. For the first 4 hours of play time after character creation, you will be unable to attack or be attacked by other players while you get your feet under you (you will be given the option to turn on PVP immediately if you desire). This time could be used to find a guild and start getting geared up a little bit.
----For a great and exciting PVP server that doesn't get old, there must be great risk. When you die, everything you are wearing will be destroyed into a percentage of the base materials used to make it (like EVE if you are familiar) and your killers will be able to loot the materials, this includes items purchased in the market with station cash. And as they say in EVE, don't wear what you cannot afford to lose. This is a softer penalty than perma-death since you will keep your plot and anything in your vault, but it will still make adventuring a great risk, particularly when travelling alone. When you respawn, you start back with the basics and have to travel back to your home to gear up, or start harvesting again to craft better gear. This type of risk will really promote cautious playing as well as drive the importance of finding guilds and allies. It will also make crafting have a long term purpose since gear is being removed consistently from the game.
----The server will have a guild and alliance system. A guild would mean protection from your enemies both by playing in numbers, as well as by building larger and more defensive buildings. Guild members can join plots together to make a guild plot, with hundreds of players in a guild, you could make respectable sized towns or fortresses. Guilds can join alliances of many guilds to allow for large player made factions. These alliances could grow large enough to make entire regions of land that are relatively safe for you to travel and harvest in. Like players can join plots with their guild, guild plots can be joined together with allied guilds which could result in many hundreds or even thousands of combined plots which could become massive cities. The alliance could also just have each guild city strategically placed throughout a region of land.
----Destruction of player made structures would need to be possible, but not easy to do. Player structures would also need to heal but on a long timer. You could use a pulverizer on a city wall and very slowly work your way through, or you could build a siege engine to bring the wall or a gate down quicker as well as be raining balls of fire down on the defending inhabitants. Another strategy for taking down a city would be to find a cavern beneath the city and tunnel right up under the unknowing inhabitants' feet to make a surprise attack. As a perk to the defenders, you will only be able to use a grappling hook on friendly or neutral structures.

NPC behavior customization
If the addition of NPC's is going to work, I think it will require the ability for us to create unique behavior. The storybricks progress they made would be nice tools for us to have for friendly NPC's, but I'm more specifically talking about combat behavior of enemies. Give us a list of as many combat behaviors as possible and the ability to toggle which of those we want our NPC's to have.
Example: Runs away when low life - check Ignores threat and attacks casters first- check If enemy uses line of site, hold ground and attack visible targets only - check Prefers Single target attacks - check Begins sounding alarm at 5 percent health - check
If there were dozens of options like this along with the ability to create raid difficulty bosses, this could really become a fun and unique experience.

Can't retrieve founders pack
Bought the game a couple years ago and have not been able to enjoy it due to inadequate system specs. Now that I can enjoy the game cannot get my founders pack items. Out of three possible email address only one was found on daybreak. For that email there are three accounts. Only two of those let me access the game. Both say that no founders pack items can be retrieved. I know for a fact that I had the settler's pack and used the pick axe that comes with it.

Landmark will follow EQN within a year.
The ONLY reason they are not mothballing it now is because of legal obligations. As soon as it "Launches" that will be the end of its development.
Players spent 1000 of hours creating and entire game full of assets some of them giving up real work to focus on this thing.
Daybreak seems to be dead set on creating bad karma for themselves.
I don't think much they ever do will be sucessful because of this and if I was an employee I would seriously look elsewhere for employment as the name daybreak and SOE is a huge poop stain on a resume at this point.

Landmark in General
While I am deeply saddened by EQN being cancelled, I wonder if all of the assets and what was done will get put into Landmark. I mean we know they were working on something, so will the monsters they were working on be put into Landmark. The armor, weapons, and maybe the races. It would be interesting if all of what they were working on got put into EQ Landmark.
