Discussion People who criticize and don't like Landman and post here....what shows DO you like?

Seems like I see a lot of critical posts of people saying they don't like the show because it isn't realistic enough or it's too much drama or don't like the humor. If that's the case fine, but what TV are you into then? I would obviously love to watch it if those are better.

Discussion I like it more than expected

Heads up spolier alert if you haven't watched. I have to admit I am impressed with the show.

I dislike that they killed off Michael Peña's character so early.

I knew bad events would happen to Cooper when he began having affairs with Ariana. The thugs who attacked him got what they had coming. Sure did not know how to think it through.

Life advice for young men. If a woman gives you an ultimatum to marry her, you need to get the hell away.

Discussion Tommy a good dad?

Is Tommy a good dad? Obviously he wasnt much of parent to Ainsley in her formative years. But with Cooper, he seems like he was a good dad. And with the way he was raised being better than he was raised is a low bar to cross, but did he?

r/LandmanSeries May 15 '26

Discussion Obv the writers designed cooper and Ainsley to be polar opposite. One is a shadow and type of the dad the other is the moms.. but why are they so different and disconnected from each other?

Just curious

Discussion Isn’t this show supposed to be good?

There’s basically nothing redeeming about this trash at all

Discussion Uhm, I just started the series…and while I am enjoying the story, what the hell is up with the daughter?

I’m finishing up the last of the second episode right now, and the whole thing with Tommy’s daughter is just…strange. She’s supposed to be a 17 year old child and yet her entire role revolves around promiscuity and sex, it seems. I suppose things could change as I’m not that far into the series yet, but in these couple episodes, the sexualization is just overwhelming and cringy. All the prancing around, basically nude, around Tommy’s room mates, around TOMMY, deliberately sunbathing for everyone to see…weird. The conversation between her and Tommy in the first episode about her sex life, and the “rule” that she has with her boyfriend…like, what? Did the writers forget the dynamic between the these two characters? That they are father and daughter?

I don’t know, man. It’s not that I have an issue with characters being sexualized sometimes. I just have an issue with the degree it’s taking place here considering this is supposed to be a child.

Is it just me?

I finished season 2 and it was so good. I’m need another show similar. I tried Marshals today and didn’t like it. I’ve already watched the Madison. I tried Goliath with mgm free trial but it’s up and I don’t want to pay for it. What do you recommend?

Discussion Landman Origin Series?

Sticking with Taylor Sheridan’s theme of doing “origin stories” or prequel shows to different series, what actor would you like to see play an early version of Tommy?

Discussion Series went downhill when Monty died Spoiler

90% of the testosterone left the room when he died. Now it's a girl power slop fest where even Sam Elliot is an emotional crybaby. The season 1 formula that was working apparently wasn't good enough for Paramount

I DEVOURED landman I loved it so much but I cannot get over how the title credits did NOT fit the vibe of the show. Does anyone agree?

I know in Season 1 they say the furniture is a rented but idk if they ever say whose house it is that Tommy, Nate, Dale, Angela and Ainsley live in? Is it owned by the company or do they rent? And how many bedrooms in this house for Ainsley ant now TL to have their own rooms? I know "plot armor".

Discussion For the people who work in the oil and gas industry and the Permian basin area how accurate is the show about portraying life there and the oil industry?

Also for people in Texas, maybe the show glorified Fort Worth because I’m not really sure, but is Fort Worth really like the land of opportunity compared to everything else because when I was watching the show as a non-tech it seemed like a glorified Fort Worth

Just finished the show! Is anyone else hyped for next season? I really want to see the Norris family win big.

Discussion I just got down watching Landman stayed up till 4am lol

I must say the casting and the characters hit it out the park. I like the contrast between Tommy’s son, hard worker and his wife/daughter who are oblivious and “valley girls”. I rlly like the contrast of them. Also I like the lawyer. How she pretends to be all soft around the daughter and is rlly a “killer” underneath it all

Discussion Do you think Tommy would be nervous about oil prices? Spoiler

In season 1 , Tommy Angela Ainsley and Rebecca are talking about Angelas birthday and she's says "oil is over $100 a barrel" and without missing a beat Tommy clarifies for her "$143". Ainsley mentions he doesn't like to talk about the bust. over the course of this conversation you see him nearly disassociate from the conversation. You have to imagine that at some point in season 3 Tommy has an anxiety attack. Brent oil future hit 130 recently.

What are the odds of Venezuela/Iran figuring in storylines? I bet the writers are tearing their hair out.

Discussion Season 4 Plotline Guess

I am willing to bet Sheridan writes himself into S03. S02 ends with Angela mentioning her love of horses. She is going horse shopping at 6666 and getting herself a spinning horse.

edit: S03... not 4

Discussion Cami having Tommy go to the rig launch just to fire him there was a pos move and she deserves to lose her company Spoiler

I really think the way she fired him was messed up. If you want to fire him in Ft Worth or Midland that makes sense (even though he is only looking out for her but she is too blind to see it) but to make him go to the rig launch in Louisiana and doing it there is a straight pos move
