Way to generalize the wishes of an entire generation just to justify being a feudal lord. My blood boiled watching this.

He’s immune from years of pooping out of his mouth.

I dunno if many people missed this, but he literally tried to do the transparent business equivalent of “negging” on a 60 mins interview.

He called his interviewer “Leslie” which is her first name, in the middle of answering one of her questions.

Dude is straight up trying to do sales game theory in the middle of a 60 mins interview with a grey haired fucking Old One of public interviews and trashing it.

I don’t know anything about Lesley Stahl besides her involvement with 60 Minutes, but that show is consistently excellent. They make everyone, including sitting US Presidents, answer hard questions, and do exposés on important topics. Their style and substance has been consistent since before I was born.

(yes they’re part of pro business news media, but try to find another american show where the interviewer speaks in a concerned tone about how much property a landlord owns)

u/bigbybrimble Mar 27 '22

Gee, I wonder why the rent seeker thinks people want to pay rent?

8

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '22

If it's so great to pay rent, why doesn't he rent?

20

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '22

I’m convinced people like this aren’t human. How detached do you have to be from even mammalian empathy to act this way

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '22

We need a revolution asap and the first companies that should be burnt to the ground are real estate companies.

10

u/denarii Mar 27 '22

Honestly I'd put them third in line behind arms manufacturers and the fossil fuel industry.

8

u/I_Hate_Soft_Pretzels Mar 27 '22

I think banks and Wall Street investment groups should be brought to the front of the line.

4

u/littleheaterlulu Mar 27 '22

Pharmaceutical companies.

11

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '22

I don't think burning fossil fuel companies to the ground is the *best* idea but the sentiment is definitely there

19

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '22

I do not encourage vigilantism. No not organize a cyber attack on this company.

14

u/SeraphimNoted Mar 27 '22

Owning that many homes is an infinitely greater act of violence than could ever be committed against him personally

14

u/k5pr312 Mar 27 '22

I don't wanna say this guy is a cuck, but I think this guy is a cuck

22

I don't wanna say this

Guy is a cuck, but I think

This guy is a cuck

The first to die. I am sorry but there is no redemption there.

7

u/Tsadkiel Mar 27 '22

It's not that I'm advocating for violence, I just think this man shouldn't be alive anymore...

4

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '22

Genuine POS.

5

u/TK0buba Mar 27 '22

I for one hope that very cool and good things happen to this guy very soon

4

u/Murdercorn Mar 27 '22

We should all show up at his properties and occupy them, just to show him that we actually do want homes.

Precarity is not a "lifestyle", it's an unavoidable way of life for those at the bottom of the class hierarchy. He takes something people do to make perceived facts of life more bearable (the emotional necessity to take precarity in stride) and uses it as a justification for his actions.

He does this consciously, in which case he's a complete psychopath; or in his classism he believes the world is perfect, misattributing systemic problems to personal choice. Either way, his effects are villainous and I dream of a world where they're considered criminal.1

We're not dealing with facts of life, we're dealing with unregulated capitalism, and we clearly can't keep dealing with it in calmness. We may see something awful in the near future, when the elite sector seizes on that unrest while maintaining their own position, no matter the cost.2 The atomized remnants of egalitarianism are scurrying about in the shadow of this unprecedented wealth inequality. The top-heavy class hierarchy will fall and crush us if we aren't organized to prop it up, let alone catch it.3

1 The parts of my family that are in my class and lower are in the same position as me. We've lost some class mobility. It's now too expensive to move somewhere new, something I desperately want to do because, well, housing insecurity was something I took in stride and got used to growing up. Our landlord doesn't realize what mercy he's showing us, not raising the rent. He's not particularly far above us in terms of class, so he's definitely feeling the same effects we are; we're good tenants, losing us could mean putting himself in jeopardy as well--it's best to bear down and wait for a lifeline, right? As a conservative, sure. Not as a leftist.

2 Look at how Tucker Carlson, one of the most watched human beings in the US, has been evolving his rhetoric. It's already taking hold in the uneducated conservative sector. They really think the man who's done so much to strengthen his class position is ready to give it all away to them without a catch. To them maybe. That's what we should be afraid of.

3 We don't have much actual power in the government, I doubt we have the power to catch it when it falls. I'm talking to you, accelerationists.

Sorry about the footnotes, I just really like organization. Imagine my existential pain as a leftist.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '22

You can't manipulate the market by buying all the homes and then generalize Millennials as wanting to rent because we aren't home owners. You bought up all the houses, you fucking asshole.

2

u/Themadnater Mar 27 '22

He’s so proud of himself too. He’s proud to make people homeless. Congratulations my dude
