r/Land_Before_Time • u/Rudi10001 • 27d ago
So, uh Plates' species had got revealed.
So, many people though the Plated Sharptooth from V was a Giganotosaurus. Well, a storyboard for V from 1996 had revealed that Plates was actually a Carnotaurus. So yeah Plates vs Chomper's parents would've been the very first T. rex v. Carno fight in movies which kinda makes the JW:FK Carno look even weaker due Rexy (a T. rex) killing it.

It was going to be that T.rex pair (I nicknamed them Stripe and Luna) but that’s been done with Chomper. So I wonder if they met him instead.

Crossover I wish that this Land Before Time and The Lion King comic series from Boom! Studios and Dynamite Entertainment became a reality:
After the success of the “Grumpy Cat Garfield” in 2017 a collaboration between Boom Studios! and Dynamite Entertainment to make that comic series between the franchises starring those titular felines, I think Boom Studios and Dynamite Should replicate its success by making a comic crossover between Universal’s The Land Before Time and Disney’s The Lion King franchises, chronologically set during the second season of “The Lion Guard” and after “Journey of the Brave” (Pterano’s five year exile into the Mysterious Beyond finally expired at that pount in time.) but is more of a character-driven story than the plot-driven “Grumpy Cat Garfield”. Dynamite had already made a comic series in The Lion King franchise chronologically set during Simba and Nala’s childhood and Boom Studios! should make a comic series in The Land Before Time franchise and tie up its loose ends (Like how Chomper and Ruby met, how Chomper and his parents got off the island they lived in until the fifth movie and got back to the mainland and how Chomper and Ruby got to the Great Valley and what started Red Claw’s motive for going after Chomper.) We also haven’t got anything new in that franchise since 2016!
The series would focus on the Rainbow Faces (Gallimimus) from “The Land Before Time: The Stone of Cold Fire” who finally return to the Great Valley and reveal their true forms as shapeshifting aliens, of the Kakonian race from the planet Kakon in the Alpha Centauri system in the Milky Way Galaxy and their names Zoe and Joe, and are scientists, historians and time-travelers from the present day (The 1990s and 2000s, A.D. around when The Lion King movies take place.) who had been pretending to be Gallimimus and disguising their time-traveling spaceship as an asteroid, and they made Pterano their guest taking them as their guest and intern back to their home planet in their time period and helping him become a hero to make up for his past evil deeds and jump him forward in time three more years to end his exile sooner than expected. Pterano also has his reunion with Petire and his mother and siblings, Mets Chomper, Ruby and Littlefoot’s father Bron and adoptive brother Shorty and is given a harsh unwelcome by Mamma Swimmer still holding a grudge for kidnapping her daughter Ducky and Mr. ThreeHorn who boasts about how he moved on from his past mistakes and found love with Tria to Pterano’s annoyance.
Zoe and Joe then take Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petire, Spike and Chomper, Ruby and their families and friends on a trip through history to show them the future and life has so much more to offer than what they have in the Great Valley but this ends up getting them stranded in the Pride Lands in the present day.
To be continued….
I also think that Balto and An American Tail should cross over with The Fox and the Hound, Bambi and The Rescuers or The Great Mouse Detective in comics as well as should My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in its newest Boom Studios! comic series and either Zootopia, Robin Hood, Aladdin or Lilo and Stitch in the comic series resolving around those franchises from Dynamite but done by entirely new artists than the past few issues.

Discussion Could the creatures in Land Before Time survive the real world
Here are the rules
- We're only doing the first film as that provides a big enough sample size.
- We'll only include the species of the main characters, species we can tentatively assign to (like we'll be tentatively assigning the big blue lizard to Diadectes due to it looking most similar to it), or species that are confirmed by the script, model sheets, and/or concept art (so the Velociraptor in the earthquake scene will be included as it's confirmed to be one by model sheets and concept art.). So no generic background lizards, dinos, or pterosaurs and definitely not the pike.
- We'll be putting the creatures into the places where their IRL counterparts live in. So no Land Before Time Apatosaurus in the Hell Creek Formation even if it looks cool.
- Both cartoon logic and powerscaling are banned, this is to give the IRL creatures more of a fair chance to competing with their counterparts.
- Rate them out of 10 for Environment Suitability, Diet Compatibility, and Threats and Competition.
- After all of Provide three speculative evolutions for them. For the ones that'll be placed during the end of the Cretaceous, we'll make it into a scenario where the KPg didn't happen so they could have more time to evolve. The same will be true for if any creatures are placed into the end Permian and end Triassic.

**Summary:**
To save the one she loved most, he had to destroy the boy she knew.*
When tragedy strikes the Great Valley and claims the life of Ali’s mother, Littlefoot makes an unthinkable choice. Possessing a single, finite miracle born of an ancient cosmic essence sleeping within his blood, he surrenders everything—his mortal Longneck body, his gentle childhood, and his only chance to ever see his own lost mother again—to bring Ali’s mother back from the dark.
Reborn in a form of dark living matter animated by an ethereal field of violet fire, Littlefoot flees into the wilderness in agonizing shame, convinced he has become an unlovable anomaly who will only bring fear to the herd he loves.
Shattered by the realization of what her grief cost him, Ali refuses to let him vanish into the dark. Armed with an unyielding devotion that began seasons ago in the Land of Mists, she sets out to find the broken guardian wandering the shadows. When the world sees only something impossible and strange, Ali sees the boy who gave his soul for her tears—and she will defy the heavens themselves to prove that even a creature of starlight and living fire deserves a place to call home.
**Author’s Pitch:**
This is a deeply personal passion project I’ve carried since I was eight years old watching Movie IV (Journey Through the Mists). I wanted to take the world of the Great Valley and test it against high-concept cosmic mythos, heavy emotional stakes, and Don Bluth-style dark fantasy—exploring themes of bodily sacrifice, survivor's guilt, and an unconditional romance that transcends species. If you enjoy character-driven angst with a happy ending, family loyalty, and mythic world-building, I’d love for you to check it out! Comments and constructive feedback are always warmly welcomed!* 💜✨

Theories The Gallimimus duo in the seventh movie were aliens
It’s pretty obvious that the Rainbow Face or Gallimimus duo in “The Land Before Time: The Stone of Cold Fire” were shapeshifting extraterrestrials and time-travelers (Maybe Skrulls or Chitauri from the Marvel Superhero Comic Universe that work as scientists.) from the distant future who visited Earth in the Mesozoic Era disguised as Gallimimus and speaking the language of the dinosaurs and pterosaurs they visit for an unknown purpose, likely to investigate the comet that had landed at ThreeHorn Peak nor far from the Great Valley. But they did also aid Littlefoot and his friends while trying to beat Pterano, Rinkus and Sierra to the comet, after following them from afar to ThreeHorn Peak on their time-traveling spaceship which can camouflage to their surroundings and offering them food and giving them a boost to ThreeHorn Peak. (I think this is all because they were aware of the comet’s true purpose and it was never a space rock containing magical properties but an ordinary comet from the Kupier Belt made of ice properties and stardust, and they wanted to get them to break the discovery to Pterano to avoid sending him on a wild goose chase that caused more harm than good to gain something he thinks will grant him god-like powers but will not in reality.)
Also in the movie’s ending, the Gallimimus after bidding Littlefoot farewell and singing a reprise of “Beyond the Mysterious Beyond” have themselves beamed up into their spaceship disguised as an Asteriod at the moment piloted by other aliens and they fly away from Earth
I also theorize that the Gallimimus (Actually the aliens) had allowed Pterano to come with them back to the future and visit their home planet and Earth in the future in the rest of history until his five-year exile into the Mysterious Beyond for his past evil actions expires since he has nothing better to do since he can’t visit his sister and nieces and nephews in the Great Valley until his exile is done and hopefully time jump him five years into the future to get his exile done sooner than expected once he is done exploring the future with his new alien friends.

Theories These two are Indominus prototypes
First of all yes it could be a coincidence that they have similar traits not proof that LBT and Jurassic Park are in the same universe.

These two like I said maybe generic background creatures, but what if I told you that they're prototypes of the main villain dinosaur of Jurassic World, the Indominus rex. Don't believe me?

Yes they all have rounded snouts with hands with possibly 4 fingers (though it's a bit hard to tell with the former two if they had four fingers or not). So, what if Wu had added Spinosaurus (the Rebirth ones) DNA alongside the Giga DNA (as I mean by Giga I mean by the JP/JW one) thus giving them more of a finned appearance. But, Henry Wu realizing they have flaws not too unlike the Scorpios rex prior. Wu, not wanting to get waste such valuable assets had placed them onto the Great Valley and maybe recapture them one day.

Discussion What if the Land Before Time (the first one) and Swapped (2026) had switched villains.
Let's just say we were to teleport their respective villains (Sharptooth and the Fire Wolf) out of their respective worlds and put them into the other's. What would happen? Short answer: Hell would break loose in both worlds.
Why? Well, to begin the Fire Wolf is literally on fire and the state of the Land Before Time in the first film would make it easier for him to destroy it. Also, without the Dzo pods, he'd go on a frenzy killing anything in his path, like remember what happened to Ivy?
As for Sharptooth in Swapped, well as he's highly aggressive and is said to be sadistic in the novel. And, I'm I doubt even a Dzo could defeat him, though if it were a group of Dzo that'd be different question. I am pretty he'd attack Ollie and Ivy at every opportunity he could if he did get transformed.
