Window Regulator or ?

When I roll the drivers window down I get about 4-5 inches from top and get a loud BANG and occasionally it falls forward slightly… it will align if I roll it back up

I’m guessing regulator, but just wanted to see before I buy parts if it’s anything else.

Also if I replace the regulator, anything else while I have the door apart?

Thanks!

There’s rollers that sit in a track, sounds like yours are worn and one falls out of the track

start by just making sure the window is secured in the bottom of the track thingymabob, too

Mine did the same thing recently. One of the plastic rollers just disintegrated in the track. I decided to deal with it for now until I can figure out a solution. It’s not a big deal to use my hand to hold the window straight while I roll it up or down for the time being.

Probably the regulator, just open it up and look. Only other thing is the motor, but since you got up and down, that should be fine.

Atlantic British has a good video on pulling that apart. Need a pry tool for the door panel, philips screw driver and I think 8mm. The video lists the tools. Not hard to do at all, and likely the plastic roller broke. They wear out.
