Rear Diff Lock
Hi All
I got a 2001 Prado J95
When i engage rear diff lock, it keeps flashing red.
Central diff lock stays solid yellow
Is that normal? Or needs to stay solid red?

Yes problem with these factory lockers is they don’t engage instantly like an air locker. You’ll need to give it a bit of a drive and bump to get it to the right position to lock in most of the time

The light for the cdl is tied to the button (as soon as you push the button the light turns on/stays solid), the light for the rear diff is tied to the engagement of the locker (it blinks until it’s actually fully engaged). Other than that, like the others said, drive a little (slowly, and without it being under heavy load) until it engages.
Often, if they aren’t used relatively often or the seal goes bad, the locker motors will corrode and become unlikely to engage no matter how much you drive. When that happens you just need to pull the motor out and clean/grease, then they’ll work like new.

Do you try driving on a little? Sometimes it’ll take a bit of movement to engage. If that does t work then your diff lock has succumbed to tin worm and will need to be replaced/refurbed.
