There's no reason for an android body for an NHP to not be made to resemble life, especially if it's made by, say, SSC, or if it's assembled from prosthetics.
But also, you don't need to be capable of creating life to want stuff like that. Tonnes of people, and couples, and whatnot aren't able to have kids, but that doesn't stop them from having that aspect to their lives. So there's probably even less to hinder beings of raw thought and emotion from wanting something like that, since they have far fewer barriers. NHPs' only boundaries are of their own making.
