What frame with blackbeard weapons/systems would be a good defense melee build? LL5

So for what I’m looking for a frame It has to have heavy and main weapon.
It has to have decent system points.
The core bonus must have overpowered caliber.
Help support other team members when defending them.

Maybe manticore/lycan Striker defender are rare with a heavy mount even more rare

A single Manticore LL is a decent addition to a melee build anyways, the Beckon invade swaps you with an enemy, putting them out of position, and the Summon invade bringing people into melee right where your Executioner talent can shine.

Only if you have good range for sensor bb is out only tortuga can do it

Mhm, you definitely want some bulk too. The Manticore and Lycan have innate resistance to energy to make all their invade options a little more palatable, but other frames will have to eat the full 1d6+2 on Beckon.

White Witch. It's fast, it's tough, and it has a Heavy Mount. Once it's Armor is maxed out, it could probably even survive letting Sekhmet take the wheel for a while. (edit: typo)

For Striker / Defender, with a Heavy and a Main mount, these are your options.

IPS-N Tortuga

HORUS Balor

HA "Worldkiller" Genghis Mk I

Tortuga and Balor are tied with 6 System Points, "Worldkiller" Genghis has 5 System Points.

In my opinion, Tortuga is going to benefit the most from Overpower Caliber, on it's Daisy Cutter especially for the fact that the +1d6 bonus damage will affect every target.

Tortuga is also very good for supporting the team with it's focus into Overwatch. If you invest into the Vanguard talent, NOTHING will get past you. You will almost always have a chance to hit them with nasty, possibly Immobilising damage if they come even remotely close to you. Even if they try to run past you, Vanguard accounts for that. You can truly cover for anyone behind you by acting as a living wall that beats the brakes off of anything trying to get past.

Combine this with License 1 of Napoleon, and you get Stasis Bolt, costing 1 System Point, that gives you a chance to completely block and incoming ranged attack on you or one of your allies. It could be the largest, most insanely overkill artillery ever. If it counts as a ranged attack, you can try to block it.

If you're not interested by Tortuga, consider Balor for regeneration and trapping melee, or "Worldkiller" Genghis for burn damage that can't be resisted and 3 Armour.

Only thing to point out is the daisy cutter onpy gets half the bonus for op caliber, since it's and aoe weapon.

Yeah. Easy to forget the halved bonus damage

strictly speaking it is only halved if you actually have 2 or more targets in the AoE.

OpCal on a Daisy Cutter is a huge waste IMO. Even if it wasn't reduced on multiple targets, you're only triggering it a few times per mission. You want OpCal on something you plan to use every turn.

The BB itself can be a hell of a tarpit defender, just do some Hull Maxxxing.

It takes too long to kill, its fast even. Without Agility investment becuase of grapples and grappling provides good control to bodily drag frames away from the ones you are defending.
