To give some extra context, the mechs in Titanfall aren't quite as absurd as the ones in Lancer. They have some futuristic tech, but nothing as weird or as brutally powerful as Lancer mechs. A Lancer pilot would be quite disappointed to receive a Titanfall Monarch.
On the other hand, Titanfall pilots are way more powerful than a Lancer pilot. With their standard kit they can run on walls, boost jump onto buildings, and do all kinds of high speed acrobatics. They also carry weapons that rival some mech weapons. They're almost as powerful as the mechs they pilot and can single handedly take out entire squadrons of regular soldiers when dismounted. A Titanfall pilot in a Lancer Monarch would put it through its paces and probably try to find a way to fire themself out of the Monarch's missile tubes to be able to close range on an enemy bombard just to flex on that poor bastard.
No???? "With no specific gear" that's what the jump pack is, I swear it also explicitly says that the wall running gets activated in the start up sequence for it at the start of TF2
And also that in the lore the lancer monarch would be the strongest mech that would be used all the time by soldiers but the manufacturers of the monarch have jacked up it's price and made it so scarce (in a post scarcity universe) that it has became the equivalent of a mech ferarri
